You all will remember Callie (pictured here) as the one that, as a kitten, spent a couple of nights stuck in one of our tallest trees so high up that we had to call on the climbing crew at Cat Canopy to drive 2 hours to come out and rescue her only to have her cartwheel down to the ground (bouncing off every branch along the way) right as the guy finished getting his climbing gear on but before he could even get in the tree.

As this photo shows, she obviously still loves trees and is a horrible role model for the younger cats.

The tree has been up for all of 30 (very busy) minutes. It's looking like it could be a long night and I don't even want to consider what we could wake up to in the morning with 7 rambunctious kittens in the house having their first Christmas experience.

The issue of frozen water hoses during winter has been effectively resolved. By installing 150 feet of heat tape along the hoses with auto waterers and wrapping them in pipe insulation, the task of hauling water buckets is no longer necessary. Coupled with trough warmers for the herd and ducks, these will also remain ice-free. Repurposed coolers provide excellent insulation for the junction points.

Mango update. Little man is growing like a pot bellied w**d. He's full of play, purrs and attitude as he holds his own with the bigger kittens and cats. 🥰

It's a sentiment they each share to varying degrees. It's worth noting that they have 7 elevated full bulk dispensers available 24/7 and we go through 22lbs of dry cat food a week. We even set a dispenser at ground level after the dogs go to bed at night so they don't have to exert themselves jumping up to the food bar to eat at night. Yet their perception remains. 🙄

Exactly. It is the cats that are the most insistently demanding for their wet food breakfast than the diverse entirety of the rest of the farm. Just try and sleep past 6:00 AM and you're in for a challenging battle. 🙄

Pebbles and the kittens were finally sprung from kitten jail today and are now free to come and go as they please. Everyone except Harley spent the day playing a game of doggy door dash, while Harley took her sweet time to explore. Today was also the first day all the fur babies interacted with the dogs without a door in between them. Luckily, it was a harmonious integration and all the babies came running when called tonight. One big tuckered out crew, which maybe tonight they will join the rest of our schedules and sleep thru the night.
