Fall is officially showing its radiant colors across the farm, and I forget how breathtaking it is every year. I decided to get runner ducks this summer on a whim at a random tractor supply visit. My husband will never not be nervous going into one again with me I’m sure. As if we need more animals… I couldn’t leave any behind, so all 29 came home with us 🤭

3.5 years of our guardian geese causing a ruckus on the farm… and Larry. We were supposed to have all lady geese, but Larry is our one male, aka a gander! We all wondered why we heard a different honk one day, and well it didn’t take long to figure it out. There is never a dull (or quiet) moment with these feathered friends, and being Chinese brown geese, they are known for being talkers.

If you are a farmer, do you have geese? Do you know of any other farmers who have guardian geese? We chose guardian geese over livestock guardian dogs for a multitude of reasons, and we are happy with our decision. And a huge bonus, we have goose eggs 🥚 for sale typically every February-July thanks to these guys (well gals - sorry Larry)! 🪿

Our pigs are raised 100% outdoors - on open pastures and in woodlots.
They spend their days doing what pigs were made to do: rooting, foraging, and exploring. Along with everything they find in their natural environment, they receive a pesticide-free, non-GMO feed we source from Triple M Farms
Fresh air, diverse forage, sunshine, and plenty of exercise all contribute to the phenomenal quality and flavor of the pork we raise. Just as importantly, their stress is kept to a minimum because they have the space and freedom to express their true “piggyness.”
Happy pigs, raised outdoors = really good pork 🐖

➡️ Twin Grace has started a new job as a preschool teacher! She doesn’t get a fall break, therefore is not providing pies this year. But DON’T FRET! The lovely ladies at SpringField already have a solution!!!
