Paint Your Pet & Support Local Rescue 🐾

We’re excited to welcome Murci’s Mission to Commellini Estate for a special fundraiser combining art, Italian food, community, and a cause very close to the hearts of animal lovers.

Murci’s Murals: Paint Your Pet at Commellini Estate
Sunday, September 13 | 3:00–8:00 PM

Murci’s Mission is a 501(c)(3) animal rescue based in Mead, WA that takes in animals with limited options, places them in foster care, provides the veterinary care they need, and works to find them loving homes.

Their mission comes from a simple place: so many of us have loved animals for as long as we can remember. They’ve been our companions, our confidants, and part of our families. Murci’s Mission is working to protect the animals who can’t protect themselves.

For this special afternoon, local artist Squid will guide guests step-by-step in creating a portrait of their own pet. No painting experience is necessary, and your pet’s image will be pre-traced onto your canvas before the event.

Your ticket includes:
• Guided Paint Your Pet class and all painting supplies
• Full Italian dinner catered by Commellini Estate
• Raffle entry with prizes from local businesses
• An opportunity to connect with adoptable animals and fellow animal lovers
• A donation directly supporting Murci’s Mission

Our bar will also be open with wine, beer, mocktails, and a special Huckleberry Hound cocktail available for purchase.

🍎✨ OUR TEACHER GIVEAWAY WINNERS ARE HERE! ✨🍎

Spokane, you absolutely showed up for your teachers. 🤍

When we launched this giveaway, we hoped it would be a fun way to give a few local educators something special to look forward to after the first day of school. What we did not expect was the incredible response that followed.

More than 600 nominations came in for schools across our community!

Seeing teachers, parents, students, families, friends, and community members rally behind their schools has been such a wonderful reminder of just how loved and appreciated our local educators are.

Every comment represented someone saying, our teachers deserve to be celebrated.

And we could not agree more.

After randomly selecting from all of your nominations, we are so excited to announce the FIVE winning schools:

Well, this is one way to make the newspaper...

In case you missed it, Tuesday’s The Spokesman-Review 'This Day in History' featured a story from exactly 100 years ago involving a name you may recognize: Albert Commellini.

Before founding Commellini Estate with Leda in 1941, Albert had already earned himself a rather colorful place in Spokane history. In August 1926, right in the middle of Prohibition, federal agents accused him of being the “ringleader” of a local bootlegging operation.

And yes, there was moonshine involved.

Here’s what was making headlines in Spokane 100 years ago:

"From 1926: Prohibition agents arrested Albert Commellini and three others on liquor charges after a raid of Leonard’s Bar, 226 N. Stevens, supposedly a “soft-drink” resort.

Two gallons of moonshine were seized. Commellini was charged with possession of whisky and “maintaining a nuisance.” Agents accused him of being the “ringleader” of a bootlegging gang.

After the Commellini raid, federal agents report that the “Main and Trent Avenue liquor resorts have added an extra man to do lookout duty,” or in some cases, “slackened up on the sale of liquor.”

“Apparently the bar owners feared further raids by federal officers,” an agent said."

Our final summer Moonshine is Wednesday, August 26, which also happens to be the first day of school for many of our local educators. So, we want to invite some very deserving teachers to come unwind at Commellini Estate after that first-day whirlwind!

We’re giving away a Premier Table to FIVE local schools! 🌙

Each winning school will receive a Premier Table for up to 10 teachers or staff members, including:

After a difficult week across the Spokane community, we’re incredibly grateful to share that we are planning to gather again for Moonshine this Wednesday, August 12. ❤️

Our thoughts remain with everyone impacted by the fires, and we are so thankful for the firefighters, first responders, neighbors, and community members who have worked tirelessly throughout it all.

And this week, we’re ready for a little bit of JOY.
