Let’s talk this N107 steer and celebration steaks like Tomahawks!

First, this steer went in for processing this morning and this will be the last steer we have Tomahawks cut on for 2026. So whether you want one for Father’s Day or later in the year to celebrate with, this is you last chance as this beef won’t be ready until the week of Father’s Day.

Next, if you’ve been on the fence, this is also the steer you don’t want to miss out on! This steer was ultrasound in April for his yearling data. At that time his % IMF came back as 11.75. To put this in perspective, the correlation to % IMF and marbling is generally Prime starts around 8% and the ultrasound chart has high prime at 10%. He also weighed 1240 that day. This beef should be WELL marbled.

This translates to him being the *ideal* beef steer. With the aging we put on the beef + his marbling and size, the steaks from this steer are not what you can find in the average grocery store meat case.

If you’ve got something to celebrate in 2026 or just want to taste the best beef around, you need to get a pre-order in now. Just sent us a message. We will not have any more Tomahawks cut until 2027 after this. 🥩

Tonight, we are proud to recognize an outstanding group of Lockhart High School FFA students who represented Lockhart ISD at major stock shows across Texas during the 2025–2026 school year.

These students competed at some of the most prestigious livestock exhibitions and agricultural competitions in the state, including the State Fair of Texas, San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, Austin Livestock Show, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Through countless early mornings, late nights, weekends in the barn, and hours dedicated to preparing animals and projects, these students demonstrated tremendous responsibility, perseverance, sportsmanship, and pride in their work.

Their accomplishments included top placements and championships in breeding and market animal shows, participation in highly competitive skillathon contests, and recognition in agricultural mechanics competitions. Together, these students showcased not only their individual talents and work ethic, but also the strength of Lockhart ISD agricultural education and FFA programs.

We are incredibly proud of these Lions for representing Lockhart ISD with excellence and for continuing the proud tradition of FFA success in our community. Their dedication reflects the values of leadership, hard work, service, and commitment that define both FFA and Lockhart ISD.
