"Knee-high by the Fourth of July" is an old American farming saying, especially common in the Midwest and Corn Belt.
It means that corn should be about knee-high by July 4th if it's growing well and on track for a good harvest. Farmers used it as a quick way to judge how their crop was doing before modern measurements and technology.
🌽 Where it came from
The phrase dates back to the 1800s and early 1900s.
At that time, corn varieties grew more slowly than many modern hybrids.
If the corn reached about knee height by Independence Day, it was considered a sign of a healthy crop and favorable growing conditions.

We have 5 roosters available. They are 2.5-3 months old. Two are silkie/satin bantam mixes, the other three are easter egger/rainbow layer mixes.
