Aerial drone footage of my farm after the flood. What was once a beautiful green homestead paradise is now a scene of mud and destruction. Seeing the river transformed from beautiful clean and lush to what it is now is heartbreaking, but I know the earth will regenerate. Big thanks to Walter at windborneimagery.com for this footage.

Thank you to everybody continuing to share the fundraising link to help me recover! GoFundMe link in comments. 🙏🏼❤

I have seen lots of people sharing the post about people who lost their homes being able to apply for financial assistance with Mountain Ways. So I went to the website this morning and guess what? They are not including people in Buncombe, McDowell or Burke Counties.

Thank you everybody for all of the love and support and donations. It's a profound overwhelming time. Big love to all of you.

We've created a GoFundMe campaign for my 5 amazing tenants who lived on the farm who also lost almost everything. Please feel free to share.

Hello, friends. I am sad to report that Red Wing Farm suffered major flooding and devastation in the recent storm. My house, two rental units, barn and greenhouses were flooded and destroyed. The land and gardens are covered in thick mud and debris. There is so much heartbreak in our community and I am heartened by all of the love and support we are providing for each other. A dear friend has created a GoFundMe page for donations to help me recover from this unimaginable loss. Thank you so much and please share widely. ❤🙏

Dear friends, farm family, customers, and plant lovers, we have news to share with you! We will not be offering plant starts for sale this year. After 14 years of growing plants for sale and many recent major life transitions, we have made the decision to dissolve Red Wing Farm and transition away from growing plant starts.

Connecting with gardeners every spring for all of these years has been a huge gift in both of our lives, and we are forever grateful for your support of our farm. We learned so much from our conversations with you and were energized and inspired by the network of growers, gardeners, plant lovers, herbalists, and seed savers that were connected to our farm's plant work. We loved hearing the stories of your favorite heirlooms, family garden traditions, recipes, growing practices, and experiences in the plant world.

We are each moving on to different life priorities and are ready to let go of the beautiful and exhausting work of bringing thousands of seedlings into the world, caring for these tender plant babies, and sending them out into your gardens.

There are so many great options for gardeners seeking heirloom, organic, and open pollinated plant starts in WNC, and we'll share some of them here over the next month.

We know we will stay connected with food and farming and gardening in WNC, and will no doubt cross paths with many of you again at plant sales and in the community. This page will stay active for a few months with this post pinned, and then we'll deactivate it and put Red Wing Farm to rest. Saying goodbye with tremendous gratitude and love,

Beth & Christopher

Keep on growing and thank you for your love and support over the years - it's been a great journey!
