June is Dairy month! Yesterday we hosted the annual Summer Social. The Director of Missouri Department of Agriculture Chris Chinn presented Governor Kehoe’s proclamation. Thank you Missouri Dairy for allowing us this honor to host. It was humbling to have so many producers, legislators, vendors, and other dairy influencers attend. This will be a day our family will remember forever.

First batch of the year for Fresh Mozzarella! You can find this cheese at three different farmers markets tomorrow. Columbia Farmers Market, Downtown Lee's Summit Farmers Market, and opfarmersmarket. For the locals, Linda at The Cheese Store in Sweet Springs has a list of mozzarella balls she has promised. If you are on that list, you might be getting fresh mozzarella today. If you’re on her naughty list…..maybe not.😬

A few weeks ago, we were invited to attend Secretary Rollins announcement for Regenerative Ag. Once we arrived in DC, we were notified that we would also be attending a roundtable discussion and that Secretary Rollins, Secretary Kennedy and Administrator, Dr. Oz would be in attendance. We were one of four producers sitting across the table from people that represent this nations Department of Agriculture and Department of Health and Human Services. We all took our turn explaining our operations, which was followed up by questions about our real life experiences. It was a very genuine conversation about soil health practices and its effect on the nutrient density of our food.
This was a unique and humbling experience. Bringing producers and government officials together to discuss food quality and the longevity of our soils is something we’re very honored to have been a part of. We would just like to say thank you to all of the hard-working folks of NRCS for the opportunity to have a small voice in DC.
