Hey there farm friends! We hope you all are staying cozy and warm during this winter season! We’ve got some exciting projects in the works here at the farm, and with it will come a few changes.
When I first moved to Georgia, it was my goal to learn everything about how to grow good organic food: from building and teaching about aquaponic systems, to natural beekeeping, to cultivating mushrooms, to building backyard gardens for clients, this helped me to get connected with many other local farmers. This journey led me to the kind folks here with the ministry in Talking Rock, to get married to my beautiful wife Brittany, and to running a small produce farm for the past three seasons. I have been abundantly blessed with the knowledge and experience, and now the infrastructure, to provide high quality veggies to our community.
Running a CSA from scratch has been no easy task! Taking on the responsibility of 20+ families worth of produce each week, with payment upfront, has been quite stressful and has nearly burned me out of gardening entirely! That being said, by the grace of God we are still going to be growing lots of good food this upcoming season, but will no longer be offering a traditional 10 or 20 week fixed CSA box. The traditional CSA has many flaws that don’t allow you guys, our customers, as much freedom of choice with veggies or flexibility with pick up times.
This season our focus will be toward expanding our nursery selection of quality organic seedlings to help facilitate more backyard gardens and expanding our food forest project here on the farm. We will continue to dial in our greenhouse and field crops, and plan to offer more hands-on classes during the growing season to get more hands in the dirt.
For our loyal customers, we are offering a prepaid market card for the upcoming season - this will allow you to select whatever fresh produce or products that we have available: anything from farm fresh eggs, to tinctures, salves, watermelons and tomatoes, and allow you to pick up either at our farm store or wherever we are set up at a weekly farmer’s market. The cost of produce will be deducted from your market card with each transaction, so think of it as a pre-loaded farm debit card usable for the entire 2026 season. The market card is available now on our website, or if you'd prefer to pay cash please send us a message before you stop by the farm.
For those of you who still enjoy the traditional CSA box - we will have a limited amount of weekly Fresh Boxes available with 7-10 different veggies when the weather begins to warm up by mid April. Each week we will send out a newsletter of our weekly updates on the farm, and which products we have available that week.
P.S. My wife Brittany is teaming up with local herbalists in the area to create the Chattahoochee Herbalist Alliance to help bring together like minded practitioners, growers, and influencers. If you’re interested in joining or know someone who may be interested, please send us a message!
