Lost Prairie Farm

This is just a tiny bit of what we do weekly in the farm. Scott works without a camera so he is behind the scenes always! We are prepping for the next market on October 17. We are out making deliveries on Thursdays - so message if you need a porch delivery! We have big projects and exciting things in the works this season! Can’t wait to share!

Pastured Broiler Chicks turned 3 weeks and get to graduate to their outside pens. The rains have passed and they are feathering out. They will live the rest of their days out on fresh grass daily. We are raising two types this time- Cornish cross and Pioneer Broilers ( the ones with the naked necks). Pioneer Broilers are supposed to forage better, tolerate heat better and have a bit longer grown out time. We have only had one loss out of 116 so far. We will keep numbers on these groups and let you know what we think! We will feed the same organic chick starter the entire 8-12 weeks. We are thankful for mild temps and sunshine today. We do have a list of customers interested in purchasing chicken. Message me if you want on the list. We do not sell in any stores and will not be bringing any to markets.

We are busy getting restocked and will be ready for fall October 17 @ Santa Fe Community market. Your favorite cold process goat milk soaps are coming off the curing racks just in time for you to pick some up! We have some new tallow products as well as the weather cools down. If you realize you didn’t buy something you see on the table - we will be @ EastTemple Farmers market at the new location of Temple Feed and Supply on the loop in Temple on Saturday September 26th! We can’t wait to see you soon!

We sell farm eggs, not to get rich, but to serve our community. We know not all people are blessed with space and time to keep chickens for eggs and so we offer our abundance to others. Thank you to all of those who regularly purchase our eggs, and by doing so allow us to continue to do it.

Lost Prairie Farm will be here every third Saturday this fall and we are excited to see this market come to Temple! We will have our Elderberry Products made with fresh elderberry and some new items such as Elderberry Balsamic Vinegar and soaps and tallow will be back in stock!
We can’t wait to see everyone and help you find your new favorite Lost Prairie Farm product!

It’s right there in the name. 💚

Community.

We’re getting closer to our very first Santa Fe Community Market, and pretty soon this space is going to look a whole lot different.

Local vendors, fresh finds and plenty to explore.

Join us Saturday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for our Grand Opening, with live music, food, family-friendly activities and, of course, plenty of shopping.

We’ll see you at the market!
