Our friendly farm family will be glad to assist you and answer any questions you or your family. The Roadside Market opens in the spring with asparagus and greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers. Strawberries are right around the corner, followed by sweet and tart cherries. The latter part of June also brings flavorful green beans, field-fresh cucumbers, summer squash and peppers. By mid-July, you’ll f

ind “just picked” sweet corn, cantaloupe, watermelon, blueberries, peaches, summer apples, field-ripened tomatoes, new potatoes and the largest sweet Spanish onions you’ve ever seen. As fall approaches, the farm bears apples, grapes, pears, squash and other fall ornamentals. As much as possible, we offer U-pick options to allow you to pick directly from the tree or vines.

Sunday morning strawberry update at 11 o’clock.

We are sorry to say that the strawberry season has abruptly come to an end today, earlier than expected due to the rain damaging them.

We have a few more strawberries on hand and as soon as we’re sold out, will be done for the year.

 It’s been a difficult strawberry year for sure, we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding🍓😀

As most of you know, we’re having a difficult strawberry year, losing all our early berries to frost. Now, our last U-pick variety has had more days of rain than it wanted, including pounding rain, the kind that makes a mark on the berry.

We decided late today to open a section of the strawberry field tomorrow for u-pick, and see how it goes. You will be parking in the parking lot; it is a short walk from the lot to the field. Barb will be meeting everyone back at the field, giving you baskets, and a quick tutorial on how to pick the strawberries that are not damaged.

Please reserve a timeslot to pick by calling us to make a reservation for tomorrow morning. We can only take several groups out at a time. Call us at 269-244-5690 and we will give you all the information you need. There is a 4-quart limit of picking in our “shortcake experience” field, $5 quart. We will also try to accommodate walk-ins.

If you want to pick larger quantities of berries (like for jam making, freezing, etc.) we suggest you go to River Valley Farms in Constantine. Check their page for details on pricing, and days and hours open.

Once we see how tomorrow goes, we will determine if we are able to open on other days this coming week.

Sorry. Our phones are not working due to storm.

Happy Friday and Happy National donut day here at our farm celebrating strawberries, by having strawberries and cream doughnuts🍓🍩

 We have berries for sale now and will have more arriving back at the market about 11:30. We have lots of berries today.

 Lots of great vegetables made their way to the market yesterday from our friends in Indiana: broccoli, cauliflower, fresh dug onions, kohlrabi and cabbage.

What a rain we got last night!!  Loving these cooler temperatures this morning😀
