The Huss Project Growing imagination and friendship through food, art, and play!

The Huss Project is based in the small, rural city of Three Rivers, Michigan at a historic elementary school property owned by the nonprofit organization *culture is not optional (*cino). In collaboration with a variety of partners, *cino is working to turn this obsolete property into residential space and a community center emphasizing food, play and the arts.

It's time for ... on a Tuesday! Every week through our market season, we'll share food safety tips from our friends at the Michigan Farmers Market Association.
The Huss Project Farmers Market will be open this Saturday (9/5) from 9am to 1pm with local farm produce, baked goods, body care and soap products, cut flowers, honey and maple syrups, artisan dog treats, seasoning mixes, tea blends, and more!

⭐Vendor Spotlight for August 29⭐

Homemade Skin Care by Rachael is our vendor spotlight for the Huss Project Farmers Market happening TOMORROW, August 29! Always having a passion for making new things, Rachael tried creating bar soap for the first time and knew it wouldn’t be the last! Along with different bar soap creations that have come to be over the years, she also makes and sells lotion bars, lip balm, and stain sticks - all of which are available at our farmer's market on Saturday mornings.

Rachael's products are made from natural, organic, and locally-sourced (when possible) ingredients, while also keeping a "zero-waste" model in mind. Essential oils are used for her scented items and are intentionally on the lighter side when it comes to fragrance, allowing you to enjoy the blend of natural ingredients. Pro tip: Rachael says the subtle smell of honey from the beeswax comes through best in her unscented products, such as the unscented lotion bar and lip balm - two of her personal favorites!

NEW TOMORROW: One of Rachael's seasonal products, the Cold Moon Night lotion bar, will arrive to market for the first time this year. Stay tuned to future markets...her Pumpkin Pie soap is set to be available starting in September!⭐

Join us THIS Saturday (August 29) at 10am for Stitch & Mend - a workshop in quilting, patching, and mending! Instructors Dara and Chris will share their love for textile arts and have displays of comforters they have made and donated to refugees. Dara will also demonstrate the Japanese technique of sashiko as a means to visibly mend clothing!

*This workshop will take place at 10am during the Saturday morning Huss Project Farmers Market and will be located under the Huss Farm Pavilion.

Alongside so many others, we were deeply saddened to hear of Dolly Parton's passing today. Among the many gifts she gave to the world, one of the most amazing is Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Inspired by her father's inability to read and write, Dolly started this program to grow children's imaginations through a love of reading. Children under 5 can enroll for free to receive a book every month at no cost.

Our parent organization, *culture is not optional, is proud to be the affiliate for the Imagination Library in the Three Rivers zip code. We currently send books monthly to 450+ children in Three Rivers and another 250 have already graduated from our program. If you haven't already, you can sign up your child at the Imagination Library web site (link below).

Dolly has already sent hundreds of millions of books to children around the world and through this extraordinary program her legacy will continue for generations to come. Let's help reach her dream goal of one billion books!
