The rain sure feels good after a hot and humid day!

Hawk's first time pulling the cart! He did very well. As always, thanks to Lance Spurling and Robert Willett for their help with adjusting the harness. Lance and I both got in over 12,000 steps today!

The babies were enjoying the brief shower. Watch the little Paso Fino c**t do his Paso gait down to his dam. And you can tell at the end the Ms Tan White's filly is the boss.

Hawk is a 2024 (full two year old in August) Appaloosa pony gelding currently measuring 13.1 hands. His sire is a full Appaloosa, and his dam is a 1/2 Welsh Pony and 1/2 Quarter Horse, bred by Perryman QHs in Viola, AR. We purchased him when he was 6 months old and have been working with him on ground manners, a little light riding in the round pen, and we have started driving him and will hitch him to a cart very soon. We anticipate he will mature between 13.1 and 14 hands. He is easy to catch, allows you to pick up and trim all feet, and you can see his most current training in the attached video. He is well started and is ready to continue in his lessons. He is available, message us for more information.

Another mule baby cooking! This one could be any number of colors since our mare, Scout, carries an Appaloosa gene (lp), a tobiano gene, and a creme gene. Scout's base color is buckskin. She is bred to the same Jack as our Sam - Clifford. If all goes as planned, we will have two nice mule foals in 2027.

All the babies are over a month and a half old and growing like weeds! Raven (black and white filly) will be moving ro SC when she is weaned. Little Miss White Tail (not her name, just a description) is staying here. Caballito (Little Horse, our first Paso Fino c**t) has been leading very well. Love these babies!

This is Night Owl's Bewitched, a solidly built TWH mare bred and raised here at Willett Ranch. We have ridden her on many trails, and she has raised several nice babies for us. Next year, she will be having a mule foal by Clifford, hopefully gaited, as Clifford has a natural, smooth gait out in the pasture. He has sired quite a few pretty mule babies. We should have a nice mule baby in 2027.

Many of you may have witnessed Killdeer pretending to be 'injured' to distract from their nest or young that are unable to fly, but have you ever had the opportunity to see a newly hatched chick in its nest? I have been following this pair since early May, securing the area around the nest with rocks, and I was finally rewarded with a sight I never expected to see. I hope the other eggs hatch and the young remain safe.
