LUNCH TIME brought home Bronze in the Pro-Am competition at the 2026 Great American B**r Festival, and we couldn’t be prouder of the people who brewed it.

Congratulations to our brew team and Joe St. John, a 2025 Pacific Brewers Cup winner, who brewed this 6.2% West Coast Pale Ale together on our pilot system. This medal celebrates their shared talent and the care that went into every detail.

A proud moment for all of us at Smog City.

An Appropriately-Timed Winter Ale, Coming This Friday

Mother Nature has her schedule. We have ours. At some point the evenings will cool down, and when they do, we’d hate to be caught without b**r.

Until then, we’re leaning into the season with Winter Ale, our 8% ABV spiced seasonal ale, with layers of caramel, toasted bread, and dark fruit wrapped in warming winter spice.

A soft fruit character and rounded malt sweetness give the b**r depth and richness, while notes of raisin, clove, and baking spice build through the finish. Smooth, warming, and full-bodied, it’s made for cold nights, longer pours, and a good meal with good company. Two out of three are available regardless of the forecast.

Available on draft and in cans this Friday, October 9th, at ALL Smog City taprooms. Coming to our CA online b**r store next Wednesday!

We hope you’re staying cool out there, Smog City faithful. We have our seasonal winter ale release on tap for this Friday to hopefully usher in some sense of autumn, plus a continuation of some specials at Smog City Heights to keep the Smogtoberfest party alive for at least another week.

Brewed on our pilot system with Joe St. John, a 2025 Pacific Brewers Cup winner, this collaboration is headed to GABF’s Pro-Am competition. Come get a taste ahead of the judges.

We’ve got a big weekend ahead of us at Smog City Heights, as our newest taproom is about to celebrate its inaugural Smogtoberfest!

This party has always held a special place in our hearts, and being able to bring it to our little slice of Cal Heights truly is a testament to the tireless work and dedication the entire Smog City team has put forth in making this dream a reality for the past ten months and beyond. And it wouldn’t mean much if you, the community, didn’t continuously show up to keep the taps open and the grill firing.

This is for you, Long Beach. Let’s fest it up!
