I have some very disappointing news I need to announce. I was hoping it was a mistake on my dates, but I really don't think so anymore. I don't believe Cayenne covered any of my Nigora does in the Spring. I think the kids Spellbound gave me were a little early and are actually out of a Nigerian buck (only other buck with moonspots I bred) so 7/8 ND. I don't think any of my other Nigora does are bred. So. I'll have to try again. Probably next month while the boys are in rut and they'll go into a smaller pen so he can't stay over with his guy friends instead of chasing the ladies. A whole season wasted and I had such high hopes. These triplets sure are cute through. The little girl will likely stay and be added to Percy's herd.

I'd also add that not every predator is the culprit as many scavenge a carcass after the fact.

Coyote predation on sheep and goats often involves bites to the throat, neck, or head area. Lambs and kids may be carried away, leaving limited evidence.
Not every dead animal was killed by a predator, so careful investigation matters.
LGD Tip: Photograph carcasses, tracks, drag marks, and fence damage before moving anything.

Well Sun9 Cayenne Pepe and MAC Spellbound have outdone themselves with F2 triplets! Two blue eyed boys and that insanely moonspotted kid is a girl! Welcome to the world, babies. Now let me move you and mom to a nice clean kidding stall instead of the only dry lot on 40 acres.
