Former feral cat Amber is doing so well adjusting to life indoors and is ready to be adopted! Amber will prefer to live as an only pet and would do best in an adult home or home with calm children. We’d love to have her adopted by someone we know, could that be you? Indoor only home please, she’s ready to retire from outdoor life. ❤️Please share and help us find her a home! Amber is being fostered in Vacaville, California!

Skunk is this weeks Solano County Sheriff's Office Animal Care Division shelter office dog! We had such a good time visiting the staff at the Solano County Sheriff's Office offices, Adult Probation, County Counsel and the Solano County District Attorney’s office. The goal is for the dogs to make new friends, share some animal love and ideally meet someone looking to adopt! Skunk is about 5 years old and a lab/border collie mix who came to the shelter as a stray. Chill dude but chases cats so a home without felines is ideal. Help Skunk find a home and share his fun day out! Skunk is available for adoption at the Solano County Shelter in Fairfield, California

Shearing day success! 🐑🐏
Every Spring our sheep’s thick wool needs to be sheared before the summer heat arrives, it’s especially important in areas like ours that can get so hot. ☀️ It may look awkward but our expert shearer John knows how to hold a position the sheep for a quick haircut that’s done in record time. Usually afterward everyone looks so different that they’ll start a head butting party until they realize it’s not a new intruder sheep, just their friend with a fresh summer shave!

Not the news we’d hoped for, our sweet Pimzy is gone. What I thought was a prolapse was actually a massive uterine tumor that was so huge it made its way out through her birth canal. Even though she seemed completely healthy she was full of tumors, which I was told can be common in older dairy goats who’ve been bred. Pimzy had lots of babies before retiring & coming to us 7 years ago with her twins Lenny & Squiggy. She nursed her boys for over a year and even served as a surrogate goat milk provider for tiny orphan Danny when he arrived. Sadly her prognosis disqualified her as a candidate for surgery. The kind Dr & staff at UC Davis ended her suffering as quickly as possible and she’s no longer in pain.
If you’ve ever visited you’ll probably remember Pimzy as the goat that would greet you at the gate and if you’ve been to our table at an event Pimzy was probably there with us. She brought so much joy to people and made so many friends. She was one of our very first goats here and I’ll miss her so much. Her twin brother Mort and her twin sons Lenny & Squiggy will keep her memory alive. 🌈❤️
