Unfortunately, we will be closed this Saturday due to a low number of pre-orders.

We truly love serving our community and would love nothing more than to be open every weekend. As a small family-owned business, we rely on pre-orders to cover the cost of fresh ingredients, supplies, and everything that goes into preparing quality BBQ. When we don’t receive enough orders, it’s simply not financially possible for us to open.

🐔 Why Are Our Smoked Wings Pink? Let’s Talk BBQ! 🔥

We’ve had a few questions about the color of our smoked chicken wings, so we wanted to clear up a common misconception.

Our wings are slow-smoked low and slow over real wood, not just baked or fried. During the smoking process, a natural chemical reaction occurs between the smoke and the meat, creating what’s known as a smoke ring. This can leave the meat with a pink color—even all the way to the bone.

You may also notice pink around the bone or even in the veins. This is completely normal in properly smoked chicken and does not mean the chicken is undercooked.

The color of chicken isn’t a reliable indicator of doneness. That’s why we don’t rely on appearance—we rely on temperature. Every batch of our wings is cooked to a safe internal temperature before it leaves our smoker.

At Not Yo Pappy’s Cookin’, we take food safety seriously while staying true to authentic Kentucky-style BBQ. That signature pink color is one of the things that makes real smoked chicken different from oven-baked or fried wings.
