What a week! Picking everyday starting with Grenache then 3 pick days in Merlot with today being final pick in Cabernet. A huge Thank You to my amazing crew! We made it!

Another harvest week and my picking crew was amazing. Tough picks but we made it! Lots of picking again next week! The end of picking is near!
Small but mighty Crew today! Picked Cinsault in Mountain View and Hagata vineyard! Thank you all!
Another amazing week by my awesome picking crew which was named the Mutt Squad today. You all make my life easier! Cellar starting to fill up. All whites in, along with Cinsault and Syrah. Merlot, Cabernet and Grenache to go!
Thank you to my wonderful picking crew! We brought in Toronja Syrah and Pauma Vermentino this week.
Cinsault for Rose’ is in the cellar along with our Viognier! Thank you to my awesome picking crew! Age range from 56 to 85!
After running samples on Sunday and Monday, we are going into harvest mode at full speed. Got the large bag of coffee for my wonderful picking crew!
And we are off. First harvest of the season, Chenin Blanc. Last year it was our first pick on August 17th. Starting harvest 3 weeks later.
Two racoons sleeping in the oaks waiting till tonight. With the 3.5” of rain the seasonal creek is back running.

Guess what Don in Pauma and I got to do in VC last night? The joys of farming!
Another 1.78” today and creek has picked up speed. Currently unsafe for grandkids to wade through. Now on frost alert for next 2 nights.
February rain total so far 4.28”. Creek is flowing and vines are happily resting!
Just hit 3.01” for the week. Stay warm and dry today. We will be closed.
So what have our crew of 3 been up to (Augustine, Don & Debbie):
Forage seed all planted and Vesper fields have sprouted and look awesome. Creek by Toronja Vineyard is running and that vineyard is fully pruned. Two frost nights, not fun and now working with lack of sleep. Our pair of Redtail hawks are back on the palms now that they are pruned and can watch the hay fields and vineyards for rodents!
Well the Boss turns 85 today. He has set the bar high for future generations. He has worked harder then many. Well except Manuel Palacios who just retired and turned 88. Hope you have many more years Dad! We all love you!
On to Hagata Vineyard Chenin Blanc. Making excellent progress on pruning.
