Back at it today with a ‘want-to’ - finishing two small area rugs made from our alpaca fiber. The third image shows a rug with ‘fringe’ - those edges will be folded over in thirds and hand-sewn. The alpaca yarn was too much for the sewing machine…

Heading back to Mineral Point next week to start a larger 5’ x 7’ rug. Should be the final one!

Wild apple and honeysuckle putting on a show on the hillside right now. When we moved here there wasn’t much for trees on our hill or in the pasture. We’ve only planted pear and willow…the rest we credit to Mother Nature and bird/animal p**p. Grateful.

Two more weeping willows for the pasture. The root systems are considered invasive and can spread out three times the height of the willow; average height is 50 feet. We’re planting in areas where floodwaters collect and cause erosion of the pasture as those roots also hold everything together. Besides, what black-hearted human doesn’t love a willow??

It takes a village! The boys made it to their once-every-three-year vet visit yesterday. They did indeed take up the whole room and cleaned them out of treats.

Polo is down to 140 (from a high of 163) and Marco is 106 (down from 115). All that travel and swimming in the Sea of Cortez worked!

Boy, weaving really gets your back! My instructor is in physical therapy as a result. Listened to my body and broke early yesterday but am excited to return…
