Yesterday we celebrated our ground breaking ceremony for our new water treatment plant. We were honored to have people from the past and the present who have supported our system along the way. Thank you to Journey Construction and Bartlett & West for setting up this monumental event. We are excited to open this new chapter.

Clay Rural Water will be closed on Monday, May 25th, 2026 in Observance of Memorial Day. Normal office hours of 8-4:30 will resume on Tuesday, May 27th. Thank you to all of those who have served and who are active duty 🇺🇸

Our operators are finishing up last weeks tie in project on 306 & 471st. Expect to be without water from 9am until 3pm today (04/21/26). After the system has been restored, you will more than likely experience cloudy water for a few hours due to air in the lines. This is completely normal and safe to drink. Clay Rural Water System will be hosting their annual meeting on Monday, April 27th from 5pm-7pm. The meeting will be drive-thru style, right here at the Wakonda Water Plant. Members receive a $15 water credit, a chance to win a cash door prize, and a meal to go. Swing in, grab a meal and check out where the new water treatment plant will be going up at!

Clay Rural Water System here! As a PSA to our Emmett Township customers, our operators are working in your area tomorrow. Please expect to be without water from approximately 9AM to 3PM on April 16th, 2026. Reminder that after the system has been restored, you will more than likely experience cloudy water for a few hours due to air in the lines. This is completely normal and safe to drink. Fort Randall Telephone had a fiber line that was cut which affects our phone system. Please call our office cellphone at 605-670-5346 to reach someone in the office for assistance.

Water has been restored. Please allow at least one hour for the system to pressurize. You may experience cloudy water. This is air in the water lines. It is normal and completely safe to drink. And always thank you to our operators on the scene and our customers for their patience.
