Some needed moisture greeted the commercial cattlemen and purebred breeders attending the Express Ranches, Spring Bull Sale in Yukon, Oklahoma. A strong set of breeding age bulls was offered, which included the Grand Champion Carload and Pen of Bulls from the 2026 Cattlemen’s Congress. The quality ran deep throughout the offering, with bulls combining desirable phenotype with strong genomic profiles selling throughout the day. Demand for the bulls was excellent with 301 Angus bulls average $15,953; and 18 Hereford bulls averaging $18,111. In total, 319 bulls grossed $5,128,000 to average $16,075. The top selling bull was one of the three members of the Champion Pen of Bulls, with depth and power to compliment a complete genomic profile; Lot # 2, EXAR BLAINE 4819B sired by COVER THE BASES sold for $60,000. Two bulls then sold for $55,000: the first was Lot # 1, EXAR NOBLE 4840, sired by AMBITIOUS, a calving ease bull with one of the top Marbling, $B & $C combinations in the offering; the second was a big growth spread son of COMMERCE, with a strong combination of growth and carcass genomics, Lot # 21, EXAR DRIVEN 5666B. Congratulations to Bob Funk Jr and his entire team at Express Ranches on an excellent bull sale.
