Funny enough, this little partnership started with a calf. 🐂
We first connected with our friends at Engler Heritage Farm when we purchased one of their Dexter bull calves. What started as a simple farm connection has grown into a friendship between two families with a lot of the same goals for the future.
Last week, we sat down together and started putting some ideas on paper for what it could look like to work together more intentionally.
Sharing resources. Sharing skills. Lending an extra set of hands. Learning from each other. Because if there's one thing farming and homesteading will teach you, it's that being more self-sufficient doesn't mean you have to do everything by yourself.
But we're also dreaming a little bigger than what this partnership can do for just our two farms.
One goal we both share is finding ways to encourage, educate and support other families who are already homesteading As well as those who have been dreaming about getting started, but aren't quite sure where to begin.
We certainly don't have all the answers. We're still learning, trying new things and occasionally figuring things out the hard way ourselves. But between two families, there's a whole lot of experience, knowledge and resources we can share with each other and, hopefully, with others along the way.
We don't know exactly what all of this will grow into yet, and that's part of what makes it exciting.
For now, we're looking forward to building something rooted in community, shared knowledge and the belief that a more self-sufficient life doesn't have to mean doing it all alone. 🤍
