Since it’s technically still summer, and it feels like 95 today, let’s look at some petunias! A friend sent me pictures of her bed of Proven Winner Vista petunias. These petunias are planted in the ground. The petunias are watered and fertilized regularly. A month ago they had supplemental iron. The planting looks beautiful!
Yesterday we were in downtown Parkersburg and looked at the light pole planters on Market Street. The planters looked amazing! The crew at Greenscape has done an amazing job of watering them!
The secret to petunias is watering and fertilizing regularly!

Here’s a lot of information!
First, pumpkins are not out yet. Pumpkins will be the end of September.
Second, prices are the same as last year!
12” combos are $25
10” combos are $20
9” mums are $10
6” mums are $5
Thirds, we will have our annual Family Fun Day this year on Saturday, October 10th!
Fourth, we will be open tomorrow, Saturday, August 29th from 9 AM until 5 PM!
Fifth, tomorrow Rhododendron Ice Cream will be here!
Sixth, thank you to everyone who stopped by today!
Please remember, check your mums daily and water them!

On Saturday, August 29th Rhododendron Ice Cream will be here!

Amiko Mix 1 is a combo we’ve been doing for several years now! Amiko is a little bit later in blooming and has a nice large bloom!
Going around the mum fields today you could see a little color starting to show on some early setting buds.
We are working towards being open on August the 28th!
This is our 24th year of growing mums on the farm!

Acorn Lane! This is one combo everyone loves! We’ve been doing this one for several years now and it seems to be the favorite.
Twenty four years ago we planted our first crop of mums. That year we planted 1000 cuttings and were scared to death we had planted too many pots. That first year we sold mums in our front yard.
We hope to start selling mums by August 28th!

Solstice Sun is a new mum combo we are trying this year! This is our 24th season of growing mums here on the farm! Many years ago one of the girls working here was helping put our mum order together. In a catalog she saw Candy Corn and said it was beautiful! We planted one hundred pots of Candy Corn that year. They were not selling, so we posted a picture of them on our Facebook. The next day after the post was up every one of them sold! Each year we try to find new mums to offer.
We hope to be selling mums by August 28th!
