Meet our new freezer truck! 🚚❄️

It picks up beef, pork & more from local farms and keeps it cold all the way to the loading dock of hospitals, schools, colleges & senior living kitchens across south-central PA and western MD.

Huge thank-you to ! Their Certified Local Farm and Fish Food Aggregation Grant is helping small family farms reach bigger customers. Thanks also to for championing local food in Maryland institutions. 💚

Washington County Farm-to-School Day and an agriculture roundtable.
Maryland stakeholders are in the same room this week to move school nutrition and farm sustainability at the same time — students tasting local food, FFA teaching where it came from, and food-service teams putting Maryland beef, apples, and greens on the tray.
Homegrown School Lunch Week runs Sept. 28–Oct. 2. Kickoff was at Ruth Ann Monroe Primary School in Hagerstown.

On trays this week in Washington County: Hoffman’s Meats hot dogs, Rinehart Orchards apples, District Farms salad mix. Partners on site included county FFA chapters (Clear Spring, Hancock, Boonsboro, Smithsburg), North Hagerstown culinary, WC Health Dept, WC Business & Economic Development, Dairy Maid Dairy, Moon Valley Farm, and Hoffman’s.

When kids know the farm behind the lunch, the market for family farms gets stronger.
