Iowa said “LOL, no” to fall and cranked the heat back up. The kids got out of school early all week, so I had extra “helpers” while hunting for new Boer bucks. Two trips, one flat tire, and now we have three goats who think they’re supermodels.

We cleaned lots, prepped barns, and our first bulk beef is already at the locker. If you want on the list, let me know! Stay cool this weekend and grab burgers or steaks at the farmers market Saturday.

Corn silage = the whole corn plant chopped and fermented into high‑energy winter feed. We make it, the cows love it.

Back‑to‑school day!
Amelia’s a sophomore, Nash is a 5th grader, and Ruby is starting 1st grade with the confidence of someone who’s already running the playground.

They’re excited. I’m emotional. The animals at home are confused.
Happy first day, kids!

Good morning, Iowa City!
We’re back at the farmers market after missing last week, and we came prepared — ground beef, roasts, steaks, and plenty of pastured eggs stacked and ready to go.

It’s a mother–daughter team today: April and Amelia holding down the booth with smiles, caffeine, and a cooler full of the good stuff.
Swing by, restock your fridge, and say hi — we love seeing our market people.

See you soon!

Nash powered through the wind and rain so you don’t have to. We’ve got premium beef cuts and pastured eggs ready at the farmers market. Grab a roast for the crockpot and make this gloomy day delicious.

This week flew by! The kids spent “dead week” selling lemonade at What Cheer’s flea market. Amelia’s saving for her STEM trip, Nash for a new rabbit hutch, and Ruby… well, she’s planning a Hawaii vacation. We won’t be at the Farmers Market on August 8, so if you need anything extra tomorrow, let me know. Farm life has slowed a bit, making it the perfect time for a quick vacation.
