Idaho Farmer Origin Story | The Shed at Garrett Ranches *Sneak Peek*
Juicy cherries, plump pluots, sweet apricots, donut peaches, crisp corn, and sun-ripened watermelon… The Shed at Garrett Ranches is positively bursting with local Idaho flavor. 🌿🍑
Nestled along the Sunnyslope Wine Trail Inc., this vintage wooden packing-shed-turned-farmstand is a hub of family pride and local taste. Inside, you’ll find Garrett-grown fruit and veggies alongside local honey, artisan cheeses, berries, jams, sauces, homemade pies, and handmade goods from nearby Idaho producers.
Patriarch Gary Garrett tends the land with his son Corby, while daughter Angie Garrett Swallow leads marketing and has reimagined the farmstand experience. Her touch is everywhere: cozy nooks for tasting fresh fruit—a nod to her grandmother’s hospitality—and seasonal events that bring chefs, food crafters, and the community together to celebrate Idaho’s agricultural bounty.
If you can’t make it to The Shed, you can still catch the Garretts at several farmers markets in Southern Idaho, including the Nampa Farmers Markett on Saturdays or the Farm to Fork Farmers' Market on Tuesdays, and the Eagle Parks & Recreation Farmers Market, and the Burley Farmers Market as well. The Shed has also become a favorite stop on Destination Caldwell AgVenture tour map.
Stay tuned—later this week we’ll share the full video of the Garrett family story: their roots, resilience, and the heart behind The Shed.
As Gary grins: “I didn’t know you could be so happy to buy something.” 🍯🧀
