Shop our meats and farm-fresh products after dining with us. At Serendipity Farms, our methods and production practices exceed organic standards therefore we decline the certification. We are proud to be able to offer SOY FREE, Meats, Eggs and so much more! Think of us as the Farmers Market coming to you. We are the only farm in Northern Michigan to be Animal Welfare Approved and Verified Non-GMO,
Plus 100% SOY FREE. First and foremost we have an open-door policy at the farm because we believe transparency is essential to accountability. This means that anyone can view any part of the farm at any time. We use intensive pasture management, rotational grazing, and multi-specification of pastures to deliver the highest quality, cleanest, and most nutrient-dense food possible. We make a great distinction between the term "free-range" as opposed to our pastured products, simply emphasizing the daily rotation of the animals in a symbiotic and natural sequence and our poultry are only locked up at night for their safety. During the day they are free to free range on pasture Much better and healthier for the animal and earth. Our cattle are ahead of the chickens, which clean up after the cattle pass through and the ground rests for an extended period. The pigs are rotated similarly. The cattle are fed 100% grass-fed /hay while our Turkeys, Broilers, and Layers have access to free choice NON -GMO and SOY FREE grain rations to supplement their pasture diet. Our pigs have supplemented rations of Soy-free/Corn-Free feed while they enjoy our pastures and forest for rotations. Using rotation and multi-species confuses pathogens and provides a platform that allows us to grow animals without the use of any type of medications, hormones, or antibiotics. Our Chickens and Turkeys are processed at a USDA facility, shrink-wrapped, inspected, and certified our process is very stressful free and it gives you peace of mind knowing they were inspected and very clean a facility! Our pigs are processed also at the USDA. We are like your one stop shopping, Pork, Lamb, Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Eggs, Dairy, Jams, Produce, and more! Why Serendipity Eggs. Our hen's weather permitting are pasture-raised and also fed NON-GMO - SOY FREE feed (plus extra goodies) and a Mother Earth News study found that compared to industrially raised egg layers, pasture-based eggs had 1/3 less cholesterol * 1/4 less saturated fat * 2/3 more vitamin A * 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids * 3 times more vitamin E * 7 times more beta carotene * 4-6 times more vitamin D. The Dirty Secret About Clean Pork at Serendipity Farms. If pigs were given snouts to root, so why would you put them on concrete floors or rings in their noses? Our dirty secret is we let our pigs get dirty! There are so many advantages to having pigs on pasture, besides the obvious fact that it is their natural habitat. All of the microorganisms in the dirt all the nutrients and minerals from the roots and legumes, and all the fresh air and sunlight combine to provide a respectable like for this wonderful animal as well as the most nutrient-dense pork you will ever eat. Pasture-raised pigs are Vitamin Enriched- Naturally, pigs raised in the pasture to have 300% more vitamin E and Enriched with other vitamins and minerals
It's all about the pasture at Serendipity Farms and this holds for our broiler chickens as well, While chickens and pigs are not ruminated like cattle, they still need to be in the pasture to maintain health and a natural environment. We produce excellent animals for some of the Best bone broth, Lard and Tallow. The Chicks arrive and stay in the brooder house which is a greenhouse so it’s a perfect start, pasture underneath them and sunshine coming through with access to Verified Non-GMO/ Soy- Free feed and freshwater. In about four weeks they are turned out to pasture where they will have access to fresh grass, bugs, and dirt as they move daily through the pasture. This keeps them clean and healthy with plenty of fresh air and sunlight. We not only strive for excellence with our animals but for our customers too. Our meats are not just great tasting, but healthier for you. We believe it's not just what we feed, but the life they had. In the winter, or if you can't get to the farm you can see how we do it with the videos and pictures I provide,
Here at Serendipity Farms, we do farm tours, Why? Because We stand behind what we say and how we do it."Know your farmer, Know your food" you can come to the farm and see for yourself how we raise our animals and why we do what we do. It's more labor-intensive how we pasture raise everything, but it gives us peace of mind knowing that our animals get to live life to the fullest, with compassion, fun, never hungry or thirsty, and zero stress. This is what makes us different than other farms. We not only just feed our animals, but we also go that extra mile of fresh Vegetables, Fruits, and Nuts. We also add Yeast, Organic Kelp, Flaxseed, and for the layers spices such as cinnamon, Red pepper flakes, and cayenne pepper and Warm organic oatmeal on those cold winter mornings. Our animals can rest easy knowing that they are protected by our guarding livestock dogs that are born to protect. These dogs fear nothing. Most of everything built on our farm was a team effort from my Husband, Myself, Son and daughters, and now our Grandkids. My husband is very resourceful (farmers have to be) and most things are built out of repurposed lumber or materials. Our first Henhouse door was taking off the Babcock homestead barn. This door my husband's father came through as a little boy and now our grandson comes through that same door. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, and all our meats are USDA processed without Nitrates or MSG. We are also MAEAP Verified, Animal Welfare Approved, Verified Non-Gmo, Weston A. Price.org foundation, and Farmers to Consumers. Have a wonderful day and We look forward to hearing from you.
