Back in February, John bought me a 2000 Excursion 7.3 diesel 4x4. We initially named it The Beast. After it died on me three times and always ran perfectly for John, the kids renamed it The Jealous Ex 🤣.

Wellllll... I was in a wreck a few weeks ago, and my Excursion is still in the shop. (Side note: it totally wasn't my fault—the other driver ran a stop sign and plowed right into me.)

Anyway... our butcher usually delivers our pork, but their truck broke down yesterday 😬. SOOOOO, I got to make the trek out to Detroit to pick up our boxes in a MUCH smaller SUV.

I miss my Excursion, and I hope Detroit gets their truck back soon!

Kids can do hard things! I joke that I'm the HR department of the farm because I handle everything that requires the phone or computer. Well, when the laptop got knocked off a stool and the screen broke, I decided we should try to fix it instead of ordering a new one. I found a YouTube video and walked our 13 year old through replacing the screen. (She may or may not have had a role in the screen breaking...) After chanting "righty tighty lefty loosey" approximately 15 times, starting and stopping the video about 30, she got the new screen installed! She did a little happy dance when it powered up and the screen worked 🤣. She also said she was stress paralyzed and would never look at the computer the same way again...

Summer time means garden time! In February, we planted red potatoes in an area the pigs had been on last fall. We tilled the soil, used the tractor to create raised rows, and planted the potatoes. Once the bushes were about 8" tall, John brought the plow back through to mound up the dirt again. Three months later, John brought the single bottom plow through to pull up the potatoes. We brought in over 400lbs in under 2 hours! We pulled 0 weeds, watered 0 times, and used NO fertilizer or herbicides. Now if only tomatoes were that easy.... 😁

Shout out to one of my favorite farm kids ❤️ She's my quiet helper, is an incredibly hard worker, and lights up when she's on the stage. Farm life is crazy busy, but I love seeing these kids grow.
