I reluctantly entered my flowers in the local show.
Then I awkwardly went to collect my vases, knowing Iād won a couple of ribbons, and quietly gave the flowers to a lady who was far more excited about my wins than I was.
That was back in June.
Itās been a minute, and Iāve had some time to reflect.
Before 2025, I had never grown flowers.
Yet somehow, in the two calendar years Iāve been growing, Iāve converted more than 10,000 seedlings into cut flowers.
Yepāthat number came directly from the seedling guy.
Ten thousand.
With zero experience.
Just an idea, the ability to Google absolutely everything, and the drive to create an income of my ownāa standalone business doing something not many others are doing in our region, or even across North Queensland.
We might only be growing on one acre right now, but that acre is just the beginning.
The plan is to grow.
To expand.
To keep learning.
And eventually, to see my flowersāflowers grown right here in Bowenāsold through the Brisbane flower markets.
So, you know what?
Iāll take the little win at the local show.
And Iāll share a little of it with SoiLife whose products have been part of this very big experiment from the beginning. And we will be walking every step of the way into the future with SoiLife too.
