Our Tamar Valley Excursion starts today!

If you’re in Launceston this weekend, come and celebrate the magic of the Winter Solstice with our curated program of events and experiences across the Tamar Valley.

Here’s what’s happening 👇

Friday 19th -
✨ – Barrel Room Tasting with winemaker Ockie Myburgh.

Saturday 20th
✨ Cellar Door – Fresh Comedy featuring Chris Franklin, Ned Townsend, Stewart Bell, and Samwise Hemmings.

✨ & – NOIR NOIR. Sip, savour, and stargaze under the brilliance of Tasmania’s winter sky.

✨ – Pinot and a molten pan of cheesy delight, served with toasted sourdough and fresh orchard fruits.

Sunday 21st
✨ – Enjoy mulled wine by the fire, marshmallows for toasting, and plenty of fire pits to keep you warm.

With our Tamar Valley Excursion kicking off next week, this is your chance to pull on a Tassie tuxedo, head into the vineyard and experience a side of winemaking that most people never get to see.

The team at Clover Hill Wines will take you among the vines to show you the art of winter pruning before handing over the secateurs and letting you have a go yourself. Afterwards, you'll head back to their stunning cellar door to reward your hard work with a tasting of their exceptional sparkling wine portfolio. 🥂

There’s a new cellar door on the Wine Route! 🍷

We’re so excited to see Tamar Gold officially open its doors and welcome visitors to experience everything Bruce, Patsy and the team have been working towards.

Located near Beaconsfield, it’s the perfect place to discover wines from the McCormack Wines and Middle Arm Vineyard portfolios, enjoy a guided tasting, and settle in with one of their delicious platters.

They’re open Thursday to Sunday from 11am to 5pm, with bookings recommended.

Congratulations to the entire Tamar Gold team on this exciting milestone. We can’t wait to spend many summer afternoons and cosy winter days here for years to come!

For our final day of the Tamar Valley Excursion, we’re heading to Holm Oak Vineyard for the Saturday Edition 🍷

This is a casual stand-up style tasting where we’ll work our way through a beautiful line-up of wines, from whites and elegant Pinot Noir through to richer, more expressive reds, including some special museum releases.

There’ll be shared platters to graze on as you go, and live acoustic music drifting through the vineyard.

We’re joining the team at Bundaleera Wines on Sunday 21 June for an afternoon of mulled wine, toasted marshmallows and crackling fire pits.

Embrace the winter solstice with a Tamar Valley Excursion.

Join the team at Small Wonder Wines on Friday 19 June from 2pm to 3pm at the Small Wonder Barrel Hall for a guided tasting of Tamar Valley and Coal River Valley wines, presented side by side.

Led by winemaker Ockie Myburgh, this masterclass explores how Tasmania’s northern and southern growing conditions shape Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. You’ll taste thoughtfully selected 2025 vineyard parcels, including unreleased wines from our premium Clay, Auburn and Oriele series.

Expect detail, contrast, and a closer look at how climate, soil, and considered winemaking are expressed in the glass.
