For centuries, humans have used food as a life source beyond sustenance. Food connects us – to the land, to the water, to the sky, to each other. One century of industrialised food has severed these bonds. In a leafy town within the Sunshine Coast hinterland there is a movement burgeoning. A recognition of this lost connection and a desire to rekindle, rebuild and reconnect to the land, to the water, to the sky, to each other.

Holy moly, it’s almost September already which means Father’s Day is just around the corner! We’re all booked out for Sunday now, but this year we’re extending our Father’s Day specials from Friday night through Sunday lunch for those who’d rather avoid the crowds.

Think QLD bred wagyu scotch fillets, grass-fed tomahawks and local line-caught tuna until sold out. Dad will not be disappointed. 😉

A little look back at two pretty special nights we had last month.

Butcher the Beast with our loveable and hilarious butchers, Kane and Jade, had such an incredible vibe. We asked questions, we learnt about questionable butchery practices, we made sausages... what a way to kick off our weekend festivities for Good Soil.

And NextGen Dinner- notes on brassicas, where four incredible young chefs were mentored by Chef Cameron Matthews and Farmer Pedro and each given a vegetable from the farm to build a dish around. What came of the kitchen was nothing short of spectacular. Alby Dale Pat James Patrick Balagbis Dylan_G are certainly ones to watch. Special shout out to Reuben for his incredible snacks kicking off the evening.

Following a successful national run of UNDRESSED shows earlier this year and the release of her limited-edition Undressed album, Katy Steele is bringing her intimate live experience to Mapleton Public House on Sunday, 22 November.

Expect a raw, unfiltered performance with Katy stripped bare on stage. In an intimate duo setting, the songs are returned to their purest form- voice, piano, guitar and nothing to hide behind. Known for the soaring anthems of Little Birdy and the richly layered production of her solo work, Katy returns to where every song begins, revealing the heart of the music in its purest form.

The UNDRESSED album is a conscious unravelling of everything Katy has released before, featuring stripped-back interpretations of songs from her solo catalogue, beloved Little Birdy favourites, and timeless covers including Patti Smith’s Because The Night, Lou Reed’s Perfect Day, and Michael Jackson’s Ben.

Honest, immersive and moving, THIS IS ME, UNDRESSED invites audiences into a rare live experience where every lyric, every story and every note takes centre stage.

How good was Good Soil!?! We had an absolute blast on Sunday and were so stoked with the turn out. The weather was perfect, the tunes from Intercooler and Double Talk were epic, And the food.. no words!

The carpark will be cracking with open fire cooking, incredible local producers Forage Farms Larry Bakery Cafe Sunshine Coast Roastery The Bush Nursery - Grown on Country The Falls Farm and some of the best beers on the Coast Heads of Noosa Brewing Co Blackflag Brewing Heaps Normal • Non-alcoholic craft beer.

Come join the feast of the beast from Yajambee Farms with lunch from $30 for adults and $15 for kids (pre register via humanitix or link in bio to receive $5 off each meal). Lunch until sold out!

While you’re noshing, listen to our awesome panel talk regenerative practices, with Angus Vinden from Vinden Wines | Vinden Headcase, Johnny Tostevin from Heaps Normal • Non-alcoholic craft beer, Cameron Matthews from Mapleton Public House and Pedro Ramos from The Falls Farm .

Our incredible Next Gen chefs were in-house this week previewing their dishes they’ve been working away on and talking through flavours and technique with Cameron Matthews and the team.

Sitting with them was Sam, our now Head Chef. It’s pretty amazing that four years ago he was in exactly the same seat that these up-and-coming chefs are, and this year he’s on the other side of the table.

This event has always been one of our faves for that reason. Backing some young chefs and challenging them to push themselves… and what they have created so far is absolutely 🤌🏻
