Located in Tasmania, the distillery's location takes advantage of the cool, moist, maritime environment which provides perfect conditions for making whisky. The distillery uses its own abundant clear spring water, which flows off Mount Arthur directly into the distillery, and becomes the heart of the develloping spirit. We speciallize in hand-made single malt Tasmanian Whisky and other high quality spirits and take pride in our range of products.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at McHenry.

Father’s Day has always been a special one in our family. McHenry has been built around long days, plenty of stories, shared meals and, more often than not, a good drink at the end of it.

I’m raising a glass today to all the dads, grandads and father figures who keep things ticking along behind the scenes. I hope you’re spending the day with good people, good food and something decent in your glass.

We launched two new whiskies, got around to some brilliant events and hosted our first Distillers Campfire back home at the distillery.

The Campfire was a real highlight. Whisky by the fire, dinner, a clear Tassie night and a great bunch of people to share it with. Thanks to everyone who made the trip down and came along.

Introducing the first release of McHenry Lightly Peated French Oak Whisky.

While our standard peated whisky begins at around 50 ppm phenols, this expression starts at a gentler 20 ppm phenol, bringing enough smoke to make itself known without overpowering the whisky beneath it.

Matured in rich French oak, it delivers layers of sweet fruit, warming spice and depth, with a softer thread of peat woven throughout. The result is a beautifully balanced dram: approachable for those beginning to explore peated whisky, yet smoky and complex enough for seasoned peat lovers.

A limited tasmanian.whisky.week 2026 release, created by simply turning down the smoke and discovering something entirely new.
