🌱 Join the Team at Kootenay Corner Gardens! 🌱

We are looking for a hard-working and energetic individual to join us Full-Time (4–5 days a week) from March 31 - Sep 26. We'd love to meet you if you're keen to get your hands dirty and become a part of the small-scale Kootenay farm movement.

🏡We are located 3 min South of the Playmor Junction near Shoreacres (about 20 min from Nelson).

What you'll be doing:

🥕Harvesting a diverse range of veggies.

🌱Assisting with nursery work, greenhouse care, and transplanting.

🧑‍🌾 Hands-on garden maintenance including weeding, mulching, and bed prep.

🐔Assisting with our chickens

🌳Gaining first-hand experience in small-scale regenerative practices.

We are a small, dedicated team and the growing season is full on! We’re looking for someone who:

➡️Is physically fit, is able to work outdoors in heat or rain, and is realistic about their physical capacity.

➡️Has no problem with early mornings.

➡️Can work independently.

➡️Is available for the full season: As this is a high-intensity seasonal role, we require someone who will not require vacation time during this contract.

➡️Is reliable, observant, and shares an excitement about the local food movement!

🌿✨As we look back on 2025, we are feeling a sense of growth and gratitude. This was the year things truly began to "flow." After years of hard work, we are seeing a glimmer of true sustainability—not just for the land, but for a balanced and healthy future for ourselves as well.

Here are some of the highlights that made this year our favorite yet:

🌱 Our Best Seedling Sale Ever: Our 3rd annual sale was a record-breaker! Thank you to everyone who came out to start their own gardens with us.

🐓 Finding Our Stride with the Flock: We made a shift with our birds this year. We processed our dual-purpose hens for our own freezer and brought in Lohman Brown layers. They are fluffy, well-mannered, and incredibly hardy—we’ve finally found our rhythm with the chickens!

🍓Growing the Food Forest: We’ve been busy planting more berries and perennials among the orchard rows. We are experimenting with drying our own herbs, flowers, and fruits for teas, cooking and snacks. While these are just for our kitchen right now, we’re dreaming of offering them at the stand in the future!

🏠 The Farm Stand Milestone: In June, we officially opened our on-site stand full-time! We’ve loved seeing our regulars week after week. And! We are open year-round! Stop by this winter for farm-fresh eggs and kitchen staples.

💍Love on the Farm: We had the honor of hosting 4 beautiful weddings this year. A huge congrats to the lovely couples who chose our venue as their backdrop for their special day.

🎥 Tusk Media Collaboration: We had the pleasure of working with on a short film about our farm-to-table movement. If you haven’t seen it yet, check the link in our Instagram bio to find it on YouTube!

🍽️ Harvest Dinner with VMT: Josh teamed up with for another incredible harvest dinner. There is nothing like seeing our produce transformed into a world-class meal in such a stunning setting in the local mountains.

🥦Higher Yields and Better Veggies: Through building soil health and greater efficiency, we’re finally hitting our stride, and we couldn't do it without this incredible community!

After five wonderful seasons running our CSA program, we've decided to make a strategic shift for the long term health and growth of our farm. We will be stepping way from our CSA model and putting our energy into our on-site Farm Stand and the local farmers markets in Nelson.

We have moved our Farmstand inside! We will be offering eggs all winter long and carrots, squash, onions and kimchi as long as supplies last! 🥕🐣🧡

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us this season! The first year opening our Farmstand has been a big success. We are starting to see many familiar faces popping by weekly. We couldn't do this without you! Stay safe and cozy this winter and we will see you all soon! ❄💙

🧡🦃 We've got all your Thanksgiving needs covered! Our Farmstand is open all throughout October with all the fall bounty to stock up your root cellars! Aaaand brassicas have made a comeback! 🥦 Get them while you can!!

And don't forget to come see us at the Nelson Farmer's Market at Cottonwood on Saturdays throughout the month! 🍂
