These four have claimed the best seat on the farm and seem to think it’s their job to greet every visitor who stops by. We can’t say they’re particularly helpful, but they are very committed to the role.

That’s how many Cowichan Creamery products have been handcrafted, wrapped, labelled, packed, and sent out into the world since we opened our doors.

And fittingly, product number 100,000 is a wedge of our famous “have are tee” cheese.

From our small herd of dairy girls to your charcuterie boards, grilled cheese sandwiches, family dinners, and late-night fridge raids, every single product represents support from this incredible community.

Thank you for choosing local. Thank you for supporting small-scale farming. Thank you for helping us reach this milestone.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: ZEBULL

In honour of Father’s Day, this month’s Employee of the Month award goes to Zebull.

Zebull has sired 11 calves for our herd and plays an important role in helping our farm grow. While the ladies tend to get most of the attention, we thought it was only fair to give one of our dads a little recognition this month.

We’re grateful for the healthy calves that have joined the herd over the years and for the role Zebull has played in that story.

Happy Father’s Day to Zebull and to all the dads, grandpas, stepdads, and father figures celebrating next weekend.

The Farm Store is open Friday through Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM, and the cheese vending machine is stocked daily from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Henry forgot to put the feed out before milking…

The girls would like everyone to know this is not the level of service they’ve come to expect from management.

Thankfully, negotiations were successful, breakfast was served, and production resumed.

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms holding everything together… including the cow moms.

The headbutts.
The constant following.
The zero personal space.
The calves using them as climbing equipment.
The dramatic behaviour followed by innocent little faces five minutes later.

And somehow they still show up patient, loving, and ready to feed the next generation.

Today’s reel is dedicated to the girls who keep this place running.

Employee of the Month: Skittles

Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother… and the grand mama of the herd. Skittles has quietly raised generations, keeping everyone in line with a steady nudge and the occasional full-face lick.

She’s the kind of cow who makes the whole place run smoother. A steady presence, a strong leader, and a constant source of care for everyone around her.

Always grooming. Always mothering. Always showing up.

If you’ve ever loved our cheese, chances are you’ve felt a little bit of Skittles in it too.

Our vending machine is stocked daily, open 7 to 7 Monday through Thursday.

Love this time of year. When the girls are back on fresh spring grass, the milk is naturally higher in beta carotene, giving it that richer flavour and golden colour.

Swing by for that golden-hour cheese. We’re open until 5 PM today.
