It is owned and operated by the Cook family who have farmed the core acreage since 1825. Our primary business is high volume production of food, fuel and fibre feedstock including corn, soybeans, edible beans and wheat. We also produce significant quantities of vegetables for processing such as sweet corn, green peas, snap beans, and lima beans in cooperation with Canada’s leading vegetable proces

sing company. In addition, we grow hay and market it throughout the region. Our diversified array of crops proves to be a great fit in terms of crop rotation and has many benefits pertaining to soil fitness, risk management and overall profitability.

Join the Mapleview Farms Team!

We are looking to fill a Summer Intern position for the 2026 growing season. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience on a progressive, technology-driven farming operation.

🧠 You Will Learn:
• Modern agronomy practices and cutting-edge use of agricultural technology
• Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques to control w**ds, insects, diseases, etc.
• How to operate a wide range of advanced farm equipment

🚜 Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Participate in field operations, including tillage, planting, fertilizer & crop protection application, and harvesting
• Operate a variety of new John Deere machines equipped with modern systems and technology
• Scout and monitor crops, including w**d, insect, and disease identification
• Use precision agriculture tools to monitor and develop insights on crop success, including JD Operations Center, AgLeader SMS & Climate FieldView
• Assist with field crop trials and research to better understand and improve crop performance

✅ Key Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in an agriculture-related college or university program, with a basic understanding of production agriculture
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel independently
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons, including weekends as needed
• Strong desire to learn, succeed, and build a future career in agriculture
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Experience operating farm machinery

You Will Learn
• Modern agronomy practices and cutting-edge use of agriculture technology.
