Heirlooms, heirlooms, heirlooms! Our tomatoes are in peak production with lots to choose from on the farmstand this weekend with even canning/saucing flats! Nothing says summer more than an amazing tasting, sweet, heirloom tomato!

Just a heads up to everyone that our first round of strawberries has come to a slow down, more to come in about a month!
Our greenhouses have started to produce so keep an eye out for the first of our cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. Heirlooms are starting to slowly show a hint of color!
Some somber reading for those so inclined about the recent passing of Federal Bill C-30. We are still in shock that this has taken place.... Allowing banned pesticides at governments discretion?? Overriding Health Canada and decades of science???

The federal government has brought in major changes to how pesticides are regulated in Canada, granting cabinet the power to authorize the use of pesticides — even ones that Health Canada has deemed unsafe.

It has been a long time since our last post which means we have been hard at work turning over our winter areas into spring plantings. The warm and sunny April and May have got our spring crops a bit early with some really beautiful new season kale (all varieties), beets, early broccoli and first of season kohlrabi's. These will be a welcome addition to our regular farmstand line up. See you this weekend at the farmstand!! : )
