250 eggs or so later... note to self, my egg hunters don't check the thistle patches... but they love throwing eggs and fighting with dad about who can throw the furthest.

Here I was checking out feed ingredients, and couldn't figure out why we weren't getting eggs from my younger hens, and looking for possible replacements.

These girls are spending sometime in the barn while they're babies are being weaned. Easiest way to keep them separated.

Good morning! These chick's were very excited to move onto their fresh grass this morning.

If you're looking for something to do this weekend, I definitely recommend checking out all the farm stores along hway 12! We went for a drive yesterday for some strawberries and honey and took some time to check out a few more that were along the way! Its awesome to see so many farmers selling their products from their own farm stores.

Here's a few we stopped at, add some other ones you'd recommend!

Spent the morning moving chickens and setting up fences to get these guys and gals weaned!

In my experience, lambs are a pain in the butt to actually get to stay in a pen. Most of our fences were set up for cows and added to or converted for holding in the sheep as well, so admittedly definitely room for improvement. Hoping I've got every possible hole blocked and they can stay here for a couple weeks and I'll get them moved to another paddock.

They're growing well though! And some are already coming to a pail of grain already, which is a good sign for them trusting us and finding a new routine.

These guys and gals were pretty chill last night as we moved them with the stock trailer into a new wide open space for them. One kid runs from them and the others are trying to pet them.

Regularly being moved has helped them become really quiet and used to us walking around them. I almost had to lift most of them to get into the trailer... which isn't always fun if you know how strong their wings are. But they are definitely growing and doing well.

At this point they were needing moves a couple times of day and I got tired of moving panels, so here they are! They'll be happy with lots of space to move around but still close enough in the yard that those coyotes should leave alone.

If you're wanting a turkey for Thanksgiving, be sure to let me know soon. Only about 6 remaining for sale!

The chickens out grew the coop, so it was time to get them moved out!

From here, we plan to divide them up into some more portable coops so they get fresh grass every day.
