Freedom Culture: A collective state of being that empowers and encourages all individuals to contribute their unique gifts to the world. Through ecologically sustainable lifestyles, economic self-reliance in local communities, and global collaborative action for the benefit of all, freedom culture can become the new normal. Over the last year and a half at Valhalla we have learned a lot about sustainable communal living. We have had the opportunity to connect with tons of existing projects all over the world, some of which have been designing and implementing solutions for decades. We’ve realized that the need is not just to build a network of on-the-ground communities; this network is already alive and growing. What we really need is to share the story of existing projects with the world, while also starting and documenting new ones, so that freedom culture becomes not just feasible but highly desirable to the mainstream.

We’re still not over yesterday 🥹

It was one of those perfect sunny September days ☀️ and we got to host the most beautiful group at the farm.

Watching it all unfold was honestly so special.

Phones away (yes, actually!), everyone stretching, sharing childhood photos, crying a little, laughing a lot, and dancing like nobody was watching 💃

Then everyone sat down at our long table, held hands, gave thanks, and shared a meal together. 🤍

Huge thanks to Jakub Szrodt and Yeye for creating experiences that truly transform us, the kind where you walk in one way and leave feeling lighter, more connected, more yourself.

We’re so grateful you chose Valhalla to hold that space 🌿

And to everyone who came: thank you for showing up so open-hearted.

You made our land feel extra alive.

Fall is officially upon us 🍂 and we have a special invitation for you: Friendsgiving at our farm 🧄

Back in July you helped us harvest the garlic. Now we’ve got a (big) pile of bulbs to crack and sort before planting, so we figured why not turn it into a Friendsgiving? We prep together, then we eat together.

Reminder: it’s a potluck! Bring a dish you love and whoever you want to bring. No farm experience needed, promise.

Some people dream…

Marc builds.

He looked at raw land and saw a farm, an opportunity, a gathering place- and then did the impossible work of actually making it real, one stubborn, sleepless decision at a time.

And let’s be honest -that stubbornness is part of the magic.

It’s what keeps him up all night, what keeps him standing his ground when the city calls or a neighbor complains, always ready with the paperwork, the patience, and the fight to protect what he’s building.

Not everyone can hold a vision that big and still handle the small, exhausting battles that come with it. Marc does both, every single day.

And through it all, he gets to share this journey with all of us and his 103-year-old grandmother; still here to witness his perseverance, still watching her grandson turn a dream into something real.

But beyond the farm, he’s the friend who shows up, the lover who chooses me every day, the person people call when they need someone steady and true.

He’s the kind of man so many of us look up to- a real source of admiration, whether it’s the way he leads, the way he loves, or the way he never stops believing in what’s possible.

Happy birthday to the visionary, the protector, the friend.

We’re so lucky to build this with you, and even luckier to love you ✨🧡🎂

Sebastian !

the one who shows up with garlic-covered hands and the biggest heart and smile, who somehow gets mistaken for Marc Angelo’s brother more times than we can count 😂, and who’s basically Luna’s favorite human on this earth.

From harvest days to fire circles to yoga on the deck- he brings a kind of steady, easy kindness that this community just doesn’t run without.

so grateful to grow (literally + figuratively) alongside you.

There’s something about this land that just does something to you ✨

it’s every kind of woman finding her way back to herself out here -the tired mom finally breathing, the daughter realizing her hands can build things, the one who never thought she was “outdoorsy” til the dirt got under her nails and she didn’t wanna wash it off.

and the boys turning into men in real time-carrying the heavy stuff without being asked, learning patience the hard way. that’s the initiation nobody talks about anymore.

kids learning where food actually comes from, teens actually present for once (shocking, I know 😂), everyone a lil dirtier and a lil more alive.

if i’m being honest, i’m particularly obsessed right now with the flowers ( thank you Bianca Roussel Marino 🌼) the way the sunset paints the whole property gold, and just… watching all the men here in service -hands helping, backs working, showing up for something bigger than themselves…

this season so far = garlic braided and hanging in the earthship looking amazing! every bulb’s got a little bit of all of us in it 🧄

P.S. : if you’ve been meaning to get your hands on some of this season’s garlic, now’s the time 🙏
