Come to our Farm-to-Table Drag Dinner, featuring drag performers The Flailing Lovers and Chef Kyle Dampsy from The Block in Nelson.

The Flailing Lovers are LB the Drag Jack & Shiraz Deville "two drag clowns having way too much fun", local drag gems from right here in the West Kootenays. With multiple performances and some frisky fun between courses throughout the evening, we'll celebrate q***r performance art in a farm-first event not to be missed.

Kyle, from The Block in Nelson, has experience in all levels of food curation, from The Block's incredible comfort food to high-end restaurants and fine dining food experiences. Kyle's passion for high quality local food ensures the best possible local ingredients will tantalize your taste buds.

At Clutch Farm we enjoy hosting intimate farm-to-table dinners to celebrate local food and community, inviting folks to enjoy an elevated food experience in our picturesque garden right where our vegetables are grown. A farm tour offers an opportunity to engage directly with those growing the food and seeing the passion and care that goes into growing for for the community, before being seated to taste the best of seasonally available food from our farm and others throughout the region.

Make the most of these sunny salad-y days and stock up on greens before the weather turns for the weekend!

Also last of the plant starts inc: Patty pan squash, random cucumber, farao cabbage,
Escamillo sweet pepper, chard, tomatillo, Sakura Red Cherry toms, San Marzanos pasts tom, noir de crimme beefsteak toms, pozano paste toms, BHN859 slicer toms, costoluto beefsteak toms. This is a super basic, essentially bare root plant sale. What you see is what you get, hence why they are priced very affordably. Please use your phone to search for variety information as noted on the front of the trays. If something is not there, it is not available, this is the last of what we have. No winter squash left. (Just answering some FAQs 😜)

Kind request: please do not wander our property or knock on the house door, other non-farmers work from home and may be in meetings (it's a very small house). Shoot me a message or email if you have questions. My cell number is also on the business cards in the farm stand. There seems to be an uptick in this and we have had experience of people helping themselves to starts in our nursery (not for sale) and demanding we sell veggies from the field that are not yet for sale amongst other experiences, so don't like people wandering around.

While we love to welcome the community to the farm, we like to do it at appropriate times, and hope people respect our privacy outside of those opportunities. We have aot of work to do 😜 If you'd like to visit the farm, send me a message and we can work out a time ☺️

It's been a big few weeks around here!

So many beds flipped.
So many plants transplanted.
So many seeds seeded.
So much food harvested and out the door for our CSA members, farm stand, market, and wholesale customers.

We deserve a goofy dance and a good laugh 😂

We are trialling a low-tech, low-cost solution for card payments in the farm stand.

Using a simple QR code that links to a Google Form, you can select your farm stand purchases and click through to enter your car details to pay online.

This is using an app called Payable that calculates the items and total in the form (if formatted correctly) and connects to a payment provider.

Sure, it's not as convenient as POS with tap, but not too bad! Yes, we will still pay card/transaction fees and a small lifetime fee for the app, but no ongoing software or upfront hardware costs.

This method allows customers to use their card if they'd like to earn cash back or rewards while supporting local farms. We still prefer cash or e-transfer!

Keeping our costs down means we can keep our prices as affordable as possible.

If using a card for payment proves really popular we may investigate a full system, but for now we hope this is a helpful compromise.

After a "ripper" of a first week (excuse the Aussie phrase), the farm stand is fully restocked and ready for you! Thanks SO much to everyone for supporting our farm.

We also had some Creston Asparagus left after the CSA this week. When we go plant out our Creston patch (we have garlic, winter squash and onions there this year) we stop by Sutcliffe for some asparagus for whoever chooses it in the CSA. If you'd like some bulk I do have a fair bit so shoot me a message. I gave up growing asparagus as it was too slow and weedy so I just buy it from them, at least it's still quite local!
