Happy June! It's early cherry tomato season and the harvests have begun. The picking is still very light but it won't be long before we consistently have them available in the stand. If you happen to find a pint in the stand, be sure to grab a bag of basil to go with it - add some cheese, pasta, and olive oil and you've got a pretty tasty meal:-)

We ate our first ripe cherry tomato yesterday! As you can see in the photo, most of them are green and have a ways to go....but it won't be long before the harvest begins and we're all snacking down colourful little balls of cherry tomato bliss!

You never know what the weather will be doing these days - snow, rain, sun, wind - we're getting it all! Regardless of the wild weather, you can be sure to find some tasty produce in our farm stand :-)

We have a wide variety of greens available these days. For a bit of inspiration, here are a few of my favourite ways to eat them:

1) lightly steamed or sauteed (kale, bok choy, mustards, or chard) on rice with peanut sauce and tofu or chicken
2) fresh salad (winter mix, arugula, or spinach) with glory sauce, toasted nuts or seeds, chopped apple and grated carrot
3) in soup, added near the end of cooking. Particularly in egg drop soup (mustards) and miso-noodle soup (bok choy)
