Our pork is raised within our regenerative agricultural practices as well as rotational grazing throughout the year. We are a small scale family owned and operated heritage pasture pork farm located in Martintown Ontario. We currently breed and raise Lacombe pigs, which is Canada's only native pig breed. All our pastured pork is bred and raised on farm, as natural and ethically as possible. Our an
imals are raised without the use of any hormones or antibiotics. We breed and raise our pigs with not only animal welfare and health in mind, but also with the mindset on how can we improve what we are doing to ensure we are offering the highest quality of truely pasture raised pork to our community? We raise pigs year round so we can offer pork through out the year, and not just as a seasonal product in the fall. we offer not only whole and half hog orders, but also smaller bulk bundles as well as single cut options. We pasture our pigs on a rotational grazing pastures by using regenerative agricultural methods along with replanting the feilds throughout the year with beneficial forage cover crops such as feild turnips, clover, kale, feild peas oats and other crops. We try to provide as much nutrition and care for not only the animals that graze the land, but also for our soil health and condition as well. We work to try and show people that pork can be more then just the slice of bacon or pork chop that most people are use to. We want to try and show people that pork can be used as a main protein source and it can actually be a preferred meat source once you grow an appreciation for it. All the pork that we raise, we eat as well. We cook with and show case that even as a simple household cook, pork can make all kind of dishes, even if you are not en experienced cook, we all have to start from somewhere. Our largest belief on farm when it come to producing high quality pork, is transparency. Once you get to know us, you will see that we are open and honest about what we do, how we raise our animals and anything else that may come up in conversation about our practices on the farm. When it comes to transparency, we try to show that from anything from our meat quality to the pigs in the Feild. We are always and honest where we know we are not perfect. Our practices can always use some improvement and sometimes, we can be very far behind in feild management like planting or even on the feild rotation of the animals. As a small scale pasture pork farm, we are still building our operation and working out the smaller inconveniences or problems. Great things take time to build and grow. With the support of our local community, we have been able to slowly grow and fine tune our product list and what direction we wanted to take with our pork. We have learned we unfortunately can't please everyone, but as long as we are happy with what we do, and the products we offer, we will build our quality off what is important to us as small scale heritage pork farmers and will continue to stand by what we grow and can offer our community.
