Our deepest condolences

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of our Board Member and friend, Doug Popowich, who passed away on Friday, October 2.

Doug was a lifelong member of the Waterhen community and dedicated many years to serving others. He spent 30 years with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, working with communities, fire departments, and Councils throughout the North. For the past five years, he proudly served as Mayor of the Waterhen Community Council.

Beyond his years of service, Doug was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community member.

We are grateful for Doug’s dedication, leadership, and the many ways he contributed to his community. His presence, kindness, and commitment to others will be deeply missed.

Our sincere condolences to Judy, his children and grandchildren, his family, friends, and the entire Waterhen community.

Rest peacefully, Doug. Thank you for your years of service and for all you gave to your community.

Stay Safe.

🎮 SOFT SURFACE? HARD PASS. 🔋
Charging gaming controllers, phones, or laptops on beds, couches, or beanbags traps heat and creates a serious fire hazard.

Keep your family safe with these quick tips:

Charge on hard, flat surfaces like desks or tables.
Keep chargers uncovered—never under pillows, blankets, or clothes.
Unplug when fully charged, and avoid charging devices on soft furniture overnight.

Small action. Big impact.
