Yes, it does! A Matcha Bowl, called a Chawan, is used to prepare matcha by whisking with a bamboo whisk.

The shape of the chawan is very intentional.

It is a specific shape to provide lots of room for your bamboo whisk to move around and aerate the matcha,

This is what will give you a smooth tea with a beautiful froth.
