Chocolate Peppermint 4-Layer Dessert

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
1 cup whipped topping
For the Chocolate Pudding Layer
1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
2 cups cold milk
For the Topping
1 1/2 cups whipped topping
1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes
Chocolate shavings (optional)

Directions:

In a bowl, mix chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until well combined.

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish to form the crust. Chill for 10 minutes.

Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract until smooth.

Fold in whipped topping and spread evenly over the chilled crust.

Whisk chocolate pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.

Spread pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer.

Top with remaining whipped topping, smoothing gently.

Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies and chocolate shavings on top.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Slice and enjoy.
