What are the chances of seeing a 400lb Blue Fin Tuna cutting ceremony right below the place where you work? Last weekend, my usual place, , where I get my sushi and ramen during office hours, held a large tuna-cutting ceremony. It was a sight to behold. There were many onlookers, as few people had ever seen a traditional Japanese Tuna cutting. This establishment opened not long ago and has attracted many office workers for lunchtime with its fresh, premium ingredients and attractive prices in downtown Toronto. Lucky I don't have any meetings planned that afternoon after stuffing myself with tuna sushi 😆.

Suppose you are a Chinese hotpot or malatang lover. There was one restaurant I recently visited in Markham, , that gave me a truly memorable experience. Not because it has excellent service or exquisite ingredients, but because of the authentic vibe from the market-style design of the restaurant and the flavorful broth of the chicken fish maw soup. It took me back to my days in Asia, eating street food. This Chengdu-style restaurant lets you choose between Malatang and Hotpot. Since it was quite chilly that day, I chose the Chicken Fish Maw Soup hotpot and was very satisfied. This soup is known for being good for your skin. Once I added the premium sliced beef and some vegetables, it was a true highlight. The fried rice was also incredibly tasty, and among the best I have ever had. The soup was so good that I ended up taking the leftovers home so I could add noodles and make it a next-day meal. Check this restaurent out if you haven't. It's definitely a hidden gem.
