Peach, Salmon and Coral Sweet Peas

Apricot Queen, though this one is a smaller flower and plant, the colour sure makes up for it! If you look at it in the sun you will see it actually shimmer and sparkle.

Heaven Scent, this is a very lightly scented sweet pea. Some have described it as having a lemony scent. It is a beautiful variety with long tall stems....too bad this one is a stinker when it comes to seed production. So it isn't always an easy one to find!

William and Catherine, sourced from Eagles Sweet Peas in the UK, who also raised and introduced it. This one is a beautiful dark coloured salmon sweet pea. It has been in our growing rotation for quite a few years now because it is just such a lovely colour.

Lizbeth, this variety is newer to our farm. it is a dark salmon pink colour with lovely tall stems.

Blue sweet peas continued...

Here are the light blue varieties. I really try to not have favourites amongst my sweet peas. But honestly these might be it. Please don't tell the others.

Beverly Ann, the lightest blue colour, tall stems, lovely large/frilly flowers, this one is perfection.

Cilla, the colour of this one is really captivating, it opens with a white/chartreuse edging on a light blue flower. I believe it is one of the largest flowers on a sweet pea, so you won't see many blooms on a stem, but the size truly makes up for it.

Ballerina Blue, this one is truly the perfect blue. A good seed setter, which is ideal in the blue sweet pea world since they can sometimes be a bit stingy.

Airan, my first year growing this variety. It is possibly the lightest blue I have seen, almost a translucent blue colour. I will have a limited amount of seeds for sale but I am hoping to build up stock for next year's sale.

Oban Bay, another variety I grow year after year. It has a permanent spot for its stem length, colour and healthy plant. This one is very popular for event work.

Jack Everleigh, a flush variety, I love the delicate blue veining.

Blue Sweet Peas

Here are some lovely medium blue sweet peas that we grow. This colour I feel can get a bit overlooked for its lighter counterparts but lately they have become some of my favourites in the field.

Our Harry, this one is my top pick for a medium blue. Tall stems, frilly flowers, and the colour. Goodness.

Newby Blue, this unique flower is considered a medium blue. It does have a slightly dark purple/blue on the standard petal. Truly a beauty!

Our Colin, another one that has a slight purple tone to its flower, it has been a very strong and prolific flower for us, and a generous seed giver. Which for a blue is a bonus!

Charlie's Angels, a tried and true, I feel like this is one of the more well known blue sweet pea varieties, it is grown and loved by many.

Purple Varieties continued...

Here are some more that I am offering this year:

Kings Coronation
Eilidh Lou
Gerry Cullinan
Esme Rowena

It is amazing how each purple have such differences, some a very soft colour, some bloom with cream/white ground, and some have more pinky tones.

Oh, and I should mention, these are all Spencer varieties. While they won't have the strongest scent they are the most ruffled and largest blooms sweet pea's that you can grow.

Purple Sweet Peas...

After looking through my seed catalogue this year, I may need to put my purple coloured sweet peas into multiple posts!

I seem to have added an abundant amount of this colour in the past few growing seasons. I think that there are just so many purple varieties out there that it has been hard to narrow them down so why not just grow a vast array of them??

Maroon Sweet Peas...

In order by picture: Burnished Bronze, Magnificent Maroon, Pip's Maroon, Windsor

I have slowly increased the amount of maroon sweet peas I grow and sell to these four stunning maroon's.

Burnished Bronze, this one ages beautifully to a more bronzed coloured maroon. A great choice for those who love the chocolate coloured sweet peas.

Magnificent Maroon is one of the frilliest and has the largest blooms out of them all.

Pip's Maroon is new to our farm, it is a prolific bloomer (third picture), its blooms open with a lighter maroon/purple to its edges. An all round great variety.

Windsor, I have had this one growing on my farm for 5 years now. I think what I love about it is that it is a dependable variety; it grows lovely, tall blooms and the colour is a perfect maroon.

Hope you give one a try!

Flake Varieties:

Scarlet Flake, Lavender Flake, Earl Grey and Mr. P

I don't feel that flakes often get the love or recognition that they deserve. And in saying that, I am pointing the finger at myself! It took a while for me to start investing into them and giving them a permanent spot in my field. I am not sure what tipped me into the flake loving side of sweet peas but I am pretty sure it was these four varieties that did it.

Scarlet flake is newer to me, I grew it last year for the first time and I LOVE IT. I cannot say enough about the colour.

Lavender Flake is one I begged my friend T for. She had only a few seeds and very graciously shared them. I had this feeling it was a beautiful flake. It really is.

Earl grey and Mr. P have been growing in our garden for about 4 years now. It still delights me seeing them bloom and I try to keep them in rotation every few years.

I usually have Raspberry Flake in my sweet pea sale. Sadly, I had to pull it this year for being dramatic and trying to fall apart on me. I am thinking flakes can be a tad bit, flakey, so we will grow that one again for another year to make sure you are getting its true form.

Here is another Modern Grandiflora variety, Turquoise Lagoon.

This unique flower has the incredible ability to shift colour, it first bloom a lavender, lilac colour, and then as it ages/fades the colour shift to shades of blue. Every stage of this flower is captivating. I know I have mentioned this before, but it's worth saying it again, that Lunar Blue (third picture) is a sport from this variety. Raised and then shared into the sweet pea world by Uprising Seeds in Washington.

Just a quick note about Turquoise Lagoon, it is bred by Dr. Keith Hammett, and is part of a new class of plants called Lathyrus x hammetti. If you haven't hear of Dr. Keith, he is responsible for bringing many incredible varieties to the sweet pea world: Shell Pink, Piggy Sue, Blue Shift, Bix...and the list goes on. If you ever want to spend some time reading about his breeding efforts or see his varieties please visit his website:

Another variety that we just started growing this year is Juliet.

Juliet is classified as a Modern Grandiflora, this type of sweet pea is on the smaller side, with shorter stems. But please don't let this discourage you from growing it! To use it as a cut flower, cut deep down the vine (around 4 to five flowers down for reference). This colour really is perfect for event work, it blooms an antique cream colour and some flowers will show a slight blush pink.

A side note on Grandiflora, Henry Eckford is the horticulturist behind introducing the term 'grandiflora'. His varieties were described as better and bigger than any variety before, which is interesting since today we would consider them to be petite in comparison to a Spencer. Genetically a grandiflora form is dominant to the Spencer form, I have seen this myself in my garden, where a variety will be the same colour but its form is the plain petal with a clamped keel. With that, growing any grandiflora you will have a very genetically strong plant with strong scent.

Sweet Pea Susan Burgess

Susan is a new variety to our farm this year. I first saw this one in Madeline's (Fraiche Flower Farm) seed line up, and since she is an expert in pink flowers, I knew it would be a stunning pink. It truly did not disappoint.

Susan Burgess is a rosy pink colour, with touches of white, that give it an antique look. The colour would be enough for me to keep growing it but as a bonus it also is a strong, tall, plant that just keeps producing so many blooms.
