Trick or Sip is TODAY 🎃🍷
Saturday, October 24 | 12-4pm | Westside W**e Trail, West Kelowna

The w**eries are decorated, the pours are ready, and the ghosts are thirsty. 👻 Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your day on the trail.

How It Works
🕸️ Start anywhere. There’s no set starting point. Begin at any of the 15 participating w**eries and go in any order.
🕸️ Take your time. This is a self-guided event, so go at your own pace between 12 and 4pm.
🕸️ Show your ticket at your first stop. They will scan your ticket and check you in.
🕸️ Bring valid ID. You must be 19+ to participate in tastings.

Every w**ery is pouring at least two w**es plus a pairing, all with a spooky-season twist. Each stop has its own personality, so expect a few surprises along the way. 🍷🧙‍♀️

Plan Your Route
With 15 w**eries on the trail, a little planning goes a long way. We suggest mapping out your route before you head out so you can group your stops by area and make the most of your four hours.

Beaumont Family Estate W**ery • Black Swift Vineyards • Ciao Bella W**ery • Crown & Thieves • Frind Estate W**ery • The Gallery W**ery • Grizzli W**ery • the hatch • Kalala Organic Estate W**ery • Little Straw Vineyards • Mt. Boucherie Estate W**ery • Niche W**e Company • Off the Grid Organic W**ery • Quails’ Gate W**ery • Volcanic Hills Estate W**ery

Please note: Mission Hill Family Estate is not participating this year due to a private event.

Designated Drivers & Non-Alcoholic Options
🚗 Designated drivers don’t need a ticket.Bring your DD along for the ride.
🥤 Non-alcoholic options are available. Just ask at any w**ery.

Be Patient With Our Ghouls & Goblins 👻
Our w**eries are working hard to serve all of the ghouls and goblins on Saturday. Please be patient and kind with the teams pouring for you, especially at busier stops. A little patience goes a long way.

Support Local
Trick or Sip is a community event, made for our local guests, and it comes after a really difficult August for our region. If you enjoy a stop, please consider making a purchase, whether it’s a glass, a bottle, or a gift for someone. It makes a real difference to our local w**eries and the people who work there. 🍷

Give Back: Win Tickets to Sip Into the Season
Trick or Sip supports the Central Okanagan Food Bank. Donate at any (or all!) of the participating w**eries for a chance to win 4 tickets to our next event, Sip Into the Season. 🎟️
Make a monetary donation at the till at any w**ery. You can add it on to whatever delicious w**e you’re buying, or just make the donation. Leave your name and email and you’ll be entered to win! The winner will be drawn on Friday, October 30.

Good to Know
🎃 Costumes are encouraged. The best ones may get a few extra cheers.
🎃 Free parking is available at the w**eries.
🎃 Plan a safe ride home.

Trick or Sip is SOLD OUT, and we hear you. 👻

Our inbox and DMs have been full, and we’re feeling your waitlist sadness right along with you. 💔 Thank you for the excitement. It means the world to us and to our w**eries.

Many of you have asked: how can 15 w**eries be at capacity?

Fair question! Our w**eries are small, mostly family-run tasting rooms, and they’re all open during the same four hours. Every guest is tasting at least two w**es plus a pairing, and everyone is in costume and having a great time. Each tasting room only has so much space, so many staff, and so many pours to go around. If we sold more tickets, the lineups would get long and the experience would suffer. We’d rather keep it fun and relaxed for everyone who’s coming, because we do this for you. 🍷

We’re watching closely for cancellations and ticket swaps, and we’ll release any that come up. Keep an eye on our page and the Eventbrite waitlist.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you! 🎃 Sip Into the Season is coming Saturday, December 5th. Save the date! 🗓️Tickets to be released soon!

And there’s still plenty to do along the Westside W**e Trail this week as we finish up spooky season. 🕸️ Check out the event page for everything happening at the w**eries, and come show your support for our local w**eries. 👻🍷

Thank you, everyone, for the incredible response to this year’s Halloween celebration on the Westside W**e Trail. Every ticket for Saturday, October 24 is gone, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Missed out? Don’t ghost us just yet 👻 We’ve opened a waiting list, and if any spots open up, we’ll reach out to the people on the list first. Join the waitlist through the link in our bio.

Got your golden ticket to the haunt? 🧡 We’ll be collecting monetary donations at each stop along the trail for the Central Okanagan Food Bank, because the best way to celebrate our community is to give back to it. Every donation also enters you for a chance to win 4 tickets to our next event Sip Into the Season!

Dust off those costumes and bring your generosity. We’ll see you on the trail! 🧙

Chef Ryan Byrne | JPC Customs 🔥🥩

Meet Ryan Byrne, Executive Chef at The Hatching Post! This Red Seal chef from St. Albert trained at NAIT and now leads the kitchens across the Jason Parkes Customs family. His Texas-style smokehouse menu is built on local Canadian and B.C. meats.

🍽️ The dish: Smoked Brisket
🍷 The pour: Flipping the Bird Cabernet Franc 🐦

Smoky brisket meets a Cab Franc with attitude. 🔥 Its savoury, peppery edge cuts right through all that rich, smoky goodness. You’ll usually find Ryan tending the brisket and pork belly. This summer he also designed a full gluten-free menu for the Snobby Chix pop-up at The Hatch.

Happy International Chefs Day, Ryan! 🥂

Chef Lizzie Boyle | Quails’ Gate 🍎🥐

Chefs Day goes sweet! Chef Lizzie Boyle of Quails’ Gate is baking for a cause with her Apple Cinnamon Bun, part of Bake The World A Better Place, a fundraiser supporting the Central Okanagan Food Bank.

🍽️ The treat: Apple Cinnamon Bun
🍷 The pour: Quails’ Gate Chardonnay

The bright, buttery notes of Quails’ Gate Chardonnay are made for warm cinnamon and baked Okanagan apples. 🍂 Every bun helps put food on the tables of our neighbours in need.

Chef Ryan “Cheffy” Lauzon | Frind Estate W**ery 👨‍🍳

Meet Cheffy! Ryan Lauzon earned his Red Seal at Okanagan College in 2010 and has spent more than six years leading the kitchen at Frind, helping turn it into a must-visit spot in the valley.

🍽️ The dish: Slow-Braised Beef Short Rib
🍷 The pour: 2025 Regent

Braising beef is Cheffy’s true passion, and this short rib is his standout favourite. It’s the ultimate Okanagan comfort meal, debuting on Frind’s new Winter Menu on October 23 in the lakefront dining domes. ❄️

When he’s not in the kitchen, you’ll find this proud dad of two relaxing at an off-grid cabin in the woods with a good book. 📚

Happy International Chefs Day, Cheffy! 🥂

Happy International Chefs Day! The Okanagan’s food scene helped earn Kelowna its title as Canada’s first UNESCO City of Gastronomy, and the chefs here on the Westside are a big part of that story.

All day today, we’re going behind the pass at some of our favourite w**ery kitchens along the Westside W**e Trail. Our chefs are sharing their favourite fall dish and the w**e they love to pair with it.

Stay tuned and get hungry 🍂
