Star looking very cheerful about surviving a 1000 pheasant attack and being home in time to grab lunch and put Cheltenham on. Bannside was equally happy coming off the trailer after Hexham yesterday, he's in one piece and 🤞 learns not to do that again.
For those of you who missed out last time we did something to help the Ukraine appeals, thanks Night Before Christmas Campaign for keeping us right, this time we are helping out closer to home. Pictured below is Ana Bratusina. A final year medicine student she moonlights as a work rider from time to time and has also taken part in training from the racing colleges. Her family are still in Ukraine and her aunt and uncle are organising for the supplies listed in the final picture to be taken to Ukraine. If anyone wants to help items can be dropped here between now and Sunday, anything you can manage will be appreciated.

We had a fairly busy few days over the weekend with runners Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bannside went to Doncaster and showed an improved performance following a disappointing run at Ayr the time before. Bolt Man made his racecourse debut at Doncaster the next day in the bumper. He was a bit naughty 🙈 but got to the start and ran his race, he is home fresh and well and will run again soon. Well done Derek for persevering 🏅Nordic Express and Fame Valley went to Sedgefield and one pulled up and the other didn't run. The ground was on the quick side for the mare and following advice from jockeys we decided to save Fame Valley for another day. Send rain 🙏
And Bolt Man was the naughtiest breaker.
Jessiemac pictured getting some grass with her regular hacking jockey Max, and also in the paddock earlier this week led up by Holly Rivett who is her normal work and schooling partner. Back from her win with Thomas Willmott at Catterick Racecourse on Thursday, shes full of herself and ready to get back cantering 🏇🏆
Fame Valley making a good start to his handicapping career ridden by Conor O'Farrell, just nipped before the line by Cellar Vie who didn't give his jockey an easy ride.
Our lad is home in one piece and biting everything that passes his box so seems to be his normal self 🤦♀️

We finished the year looking forwards to 2022 with two nice young horses, one from Doncaster sales in August, the other is a homebred. On their last day as 3yos these two babies had their first away day and didn't disappoint, and hopefully both will be running soon. Videos courtesy of Holly Rivett

After a busy few weeks its hard to believe its almost Christmas! This year we are helping a local charity Night Before Christmas Campaign and we would love it if you did too. They provide Christmas gifts to children living in poverty, sadly thats over 16,500 in Ayrshire.
If its individual items or gift boxes, everything you can provide will be appreciated. You can drop items off here until 18th December, directly with the charity or at one of their other drop off points around Ayrshire.

All 3 runners back in one piece yesterday, bring on the mud! Bannside had his run over hurdles and Fame Valley his second while Starsinhereyes (pictured) ran in her second bumper. All 3 ran showed promise but want softer ground. This being Scotland it'll come eventually ☔🌧

We loved showing you what we do behind the scenes everyday getting horses ready to race and how much we , putting faces to facebook names and seeing some owners, old employees and owners of our racehorses past and present.
I think you will agree Vinny Rivett and Beth Errington did a fantastic job as our tractor drivers, Beth roped in at the 11th hour and 59th minute, thanks to both.
Special mention on the day to Thomas Willmott for coming up and riding (and bringing his fan club), Vicki Fairfoull and Lesley Kirkland for running the kitchen and keeping us all fed and Lesley from Lochlan's Legacy for coming and telling us about her charity.
I bought this 3yo filly at the sales last month for my wife and nobody here has been able to come up with a suitable name for her, so we decided to have a competition to name her. Luckily it was a name that suits her perfectly. Meet Poppy.

Some of you will be aware that we have had a bit of a clear out this season. Here is Imperial Prince in his new home. Suspect this is more his cup of tea than 3m in mud over fences! He is an absolute credit to his new owners and looks a million dollars.
