Started making candy boards for the hives. We try to give each hive a full box of honey to last them through the winter, but this adds an insurance policy. Just sugar and water smashed together … will let this dry a few days then add to the hives on a warm sunny afternoon.

After 12 days of overseas travel for the day job, brought a bug back home with me. Whipped up some fire honey for my tea. It’s our raw local honey mixed with ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne, and black pepper. Is this a product you would like to see us add to our lineup?

Our last Saturday at the Powell Chamber Farmer's Market for the season !

This Saturday will be our last Powell Farmers Market day of the season... but if you are worried about getting your English Muffin fix... they will be available at David & Mary's starting Sat Oct 3. We are super excited to extend our products with them. If you haven't been to their store... it is like a farmers market that is open every day!

It’s here !! Our Autumn Olive jam. Grown on our property, limited in numbers, when it is gone it’s gone (until next year)

While it is considered an invasive species, Autumn Olive is a super fruit and we love the jam that is made from it. It is sweet and tart like currant. It has been on our property since we bought it, and the bees love the flowers. While it is not allowed to propagate, it is not on the destroy list.

Cooking one of our own meat birds makes multiple meals … and now bone broth is simmering . Last pic is just half of one breast. These guys are big and delicious .

One of our favorite dinners.
Seasoned ground beef from steers raised down the road , sweet potatoes from the garden, a little Parmesan, and a drizzle of our hot honey .

It sounds weird but it tastes amazing!
