The Copas family still use centuries-old production methods & have done ever since Tom Copas started producing Christmas turkeys in 1957. We maintain the highest welfare standards for all our turkeys. Our free-range bronze & free range organic turkeys roam in cherry orchards & grass meadows & our white feathered turkeys are nurtured in spacious open barns with natural light & ventilation. They are raised on a natural diet, rich in oats, with no growth promoting additives. Each Copas turkey is reared to full maturity (24-28 weeks old), before being dry plucked by hand & game-hung to mature for a minimum of two weeks, ensuring the finest taste & texture of meat for Christmas Day. In addition to whole birds, we also offer turkey crowns & boneless turkey joints. We also offer a wide range of accompaniments to be enjoyed alongside our turkeys, including Cranberry sauce with rosemary, Boxing Day chutney, Coronation Sauce & Traditional Gravy. Our accompaniments also make the perfect addition to your Sunday roasts year round!

It's National Baking Week, so we're celebrating our love of homemade pies 🥧... and the best bit of all: the fillings!

🐓 Free-range chicken in a creamy sauce under a golden crust (that's the one in the picture)
🦌 Venison steak, slow-cooked until tender and wrapped in buttery pastry
🥖 Sausage rolls, or as we like to call them, the pie you can eat with one hand

Which slice is yours? Chicken, venison or sausage roll? "All three" is a perfectly acceptable answer

Two birds and a bottle. Here's the bottle 🍸

Our Copas Small Batch Rosemary Gin has won Silver in the Gin category at the Great British Food Awards 2026! It joins the one-star Great Taste award our gin received in 2024, which makes this one especially delightful.

It's made with rosemary grown on our farm in Cookham, the same rosemary that goes out with our Christmas turkeys. Created with Griffiths Brothers Distillery in Penn, it's a full-bodied British gin with juniper, grapefruit, lemon, liquorice, grains of paradise and more.

Serve it with lots of ice, tonic, a slice of grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary. (If it looks a little cloudy, that's the natural oils from our rosemary, and it clears as soon as the tonic goes in.)

That's the full set: one Gold and two Silvers! Thank you to the judges, and to everyone who followed along 🥂

Our Copas Free Range Whole Turkey has won Silver in the Christmas Mains category at the Great British Food Awards 2026, and we're delighted! That makes five awards in three years: Gold at the Great British Food Awards 2025, plus a Great Taste star in 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Reared on our family farm in Cookham since 1957, our turkeys roam freely on open pasture, eat an oat-rich diet with no additives. They're grown slowly to full maturity, then hand-plucked and dry-aged, so the meat is moist and tender with a rich, natural flavour.

Great British Food Awards 2026 GOLD for our free-range whole chicken 🥇 The first bird is out of the bag!

Our Thoughtful Producer Free Range Whole Chicken has won Gold in the Poultry category. It follows a Great Taste star in 2024, 2025 and 2026, making it four awards in three years. We couldn't be happier.

We're also thrilled to have been crowned winner of the entire London & South East region - with our Thoughtful Producer Chicken gaining the highest score across every product tasted 💫 🎉

Exceptional British chicken, reared slowly for outstanding flavour. Here's what keeps the judges coming back for more:

⏳ Time. Our slow-grown chickens are reared for more than twice as long as many conventional birds.
🌿 Space. They spend their days out on grassy fields, foraging naturally.
🤲 Patience. Each bird is dry-plucked and hand-finished.

That's what gives the meat its firmer texture and richer flavour, and it's lovely to know the judges keep tasting it too.

We're delighted to share that Copas has won one Gold and two Silvers at the Great British Food Awards 2026!

The Great British Food Awards celebrate the finest British food and drink, and the farmers, growers and makers behind it. Entries are tasted by panels of industry specialists and then by head judges including Raymond Blanc, William Sitwell, Olly Smith and Adam Handling. Gold goes to roughly the top 10% of entries.

For our family farm in Cookham, rearing free-range birds the slow way since 1957, that means an awful lot. Thank you to the judges, and to all of you who choose to shop with us.

So which products won? Our lips are sealed (just about). All we'll say is: two birds and a bottle.

Have a guess in the comments below, and stay tuned. We'll be revealing each winner over the coming days 👀

🐓 Our Thoughtful Producer range is all about a slower, more considered approach to farming. Our free-range chickens are reared for over twice as long as many conventional birds, with days spent exploring grassy fields and foraging naturally. Then they're dry-plucked, hand-finished and game-hung for around seven days.

The result? A firmer texture, richer flavour and a bird that goes further, from Sunday roast to Monday's soup.

Good food takes time, and we think it's worth the wait.

In 1957, a teenager was given 153 turkey poults. He had no idea what he'd started 🦃

That teenager was Tom Copas Sr., and those poults became a small seasonal venture that grew into Copas Traditional Turkeys, raising free-range turkeys on our family farm in Cookham.

Almost 70 Christmases and two generations later, the way we rear our turkeys hasn't changed much at all. Slowly, outdoors on open pasture, then hand-plucked and dry-aged. Some things are worth keeping just as they were.
