A truly wonderful August!

We celebrated 55 years with culinary legends; Neil Borthwick, Mitch Tonks and Mark Hix.

Courgettes, beans and tomatoes continued to roll into the kitchens whilst we also made room for the first of the seasons plums, damsons and sweetcorn. Many sunflowers were picked for Hospiscare and our Maize Maze for MND Association Jon (Joff) Machell eventually grew tall enough to get lost in.

We’re ready for the chaos that is September…with our Pebblebed Vineyard Community Harvest earlier than ever, we will be unveiling our new home & lifestyle hub and our biggest and most exciting Pumpkin Fest yet is on the horizon 🙂‍↔️

Meet the Tromboncino Squash! Locally grown for us by Ann - who also makes our jams and grew these Victoria Plums.

The tromboncino grows on a climbing vine, curving into its unmistakable trombone shape as it goes - which is exactly where the name comes from, Italian for “little trombone.”

Similar to courgette, but fleshier and less watery, it holds its shape beautifully whether you’re cooking it or eating it raw.

How to enjoy it…

Raw: Slice into ribbons, toss with mint, salt, pepper, olive oil, lemon juice and flaked almonds.

Cooked:
🍋Sliced into rounds or ribbons and griddled with olive oil, lemon and mint
🫚Grated into fritters or slaw
🌶️Sautéed with garlic and chilli as a quick side
🥒Spiralised as a “courgetti”- style pasta swap

It’s all coming together!

Cycen - Bespoke kitchen design and installation. Andy has partnered with some of the best, from classic British favourites like AGA and Rangemaster to premium brands like Miele and Quooker, plus a touch of French flair from La Cornue and Lacanache. The showroom is now open with just a few finishing touches to go!

Indigenous - Family-run natural flooring and interiors specialist. Arange built around the relationship between artisan and material with every piece handmade, hand-finished, and completely one of a kind. The team are laying the final tiles and installing the last couple bathrooms!

Pop in and see the space, officially launching in September 🌱
